1983 rx7 gs High oil pressure
1983 rx7, 12a stock. 170k miles.
Hey people. I have a problem with my car, when i am driving at normal speeds below 30mph, the oil pressure goes all the way to 110 and sometimes higher. Always shifting at 3500 rpm or below. Then as i go allong on the highway, the oil pressure goes all the way past 110, then if i dont decelerate or cluth and let the oil pressure go down, the car starts to jerk back and forth, if you let go of the accelerator the car will shut off. I can turn it on right away and keep going. But i have to watch the oil pressure so it doesnt do it again. I changed the gas pump,coils, cables and distribuitor cap. Also spark plugs, oil, oil filter and air filter in my troubleshootings. It is worth mentioning that this happens when the car is warm already (after it pulls the choke). Separate issues worth mentioning, the car doesnt iddle below 1k rpm and when you hit the brake the revs drop and if turning the car will turn off. One more thing, the volt meter fluctuate when sighnal lights are blinking, the car iddles at 1.2-1.5k rpm.My main concer is the oil pressure issue, just thought id mention those.I have ran out of hope on this car. plex help
