160 degree thermostat?

Hey guys, I was wondering what the stock thermostat temperature is on a first gen rx7? Would 160 degrees be too low? Its really hot here in the summer 80-105F and I just want my car to run safely cool. Thanks!

180 degrees is the stock t-stat temp. i would stick with a 180 degree t-stat. i've never had issues with one. it is HIGHLY reccomended that you purchase a new t-stat from your local dealer as the oem t-stats seem to be the ones that work the best. aftermarket t-stats do not work well at all. when reinstalling, ensure that the jiggle pin is at the 12 o'clock position.
