15" wheels too small? fc3s

just wondering what the consensus is on 15's on an fc with at least 3" drop, maybe 205/55 series tire? is that too small? would this look silly? tried google, no help. and the wheel thread is like a mile long with probably a very low percentage of 15's in there
if anyone has any pics of anything that may fit the description, i would appreciate that greatly
thank you

I think with the right width and offset you can pull it off

Most of the base model FC3s had 14-inch wheels, and every other non-turbo FC3 came stock with 205/60VR15 wheels. The 14" wheels look a bit small, but I think the 15" wheels look good. The turbo model had 16" wheels, and my opinion is that anything bigger usually makes the car look like it belongs to a drug dealer.

In this link the car on top has 15" wheels, and the car on the bottom has 14" wheels.

A 3" drop is retarded. Most street/autocross performance RX-7s have a .75" to 1" drop.

buy some cragar steelies or something cheap and can fit wide *** tires.

far as i know most of the stock rims for the FC are mostly 16's or 15's

hmm. ye i have a set of 17's as well. but they're 4x114 and the car is a t2 so i'd need to do a hub swap. nice wheels. panasport g7 c8s w/ white face. not sure on the offset though. didn't see any markings on them.
the 15's are my bolt pattern, 5x114. weds albino 15x7 +22 all around. brand new never mounted. the highest profile i'd wanna go with the 15's is 50 though. that's why i think it would need to be slammed at least 3" to look decent on a 50 series. i poured over the wheel thread and found only 3 members on there with 15's. the only one i thought looked right was slammed pretty hard. finish line i believe was his name. i guess all i can do is get some tires for the albinos and drop it and see how i like it. though i'm sure the panasports are the more logical choice and would probably look right at home.
if there's any members reading who have run 15's on a 50 series and can chime in with some pics and feedback, i'd appreciate that greatly. i pm'd finishline but hasn't gotten back yet.

thank you all for your replies thus far

those are at least a 16. my stock wheels are 16's. if the albinos were 16's, it'd be perfect. not all that into widened steelies, but that car looks great

well that doesn't look too small at all. mind you that's a 225/50 though, so the sidewalls are a bit taller than say a 205. but the rims themselves look pretty good.
thank you, for sharing

I think 15's could look great, if it's a good rim of course... go with something old school!

They don't look like fart cans to me, either.

The guys at my race shop call my mufflers "grapefruit launchers", lol.

15's are just a tad too small for my taste, but they still look nice. Obviously a smaller profile tire will look nicer, but usually cost more.
