13b about to explode? I dun wanna explode!
So lemme just say this, I am a newb, but yes I didn't search, and no-one seems to have the answer to my conundrum.
K-so here's the problem:
About a week ago I changed my spark plugs and oil filter, and as soon as I turn on my car my "ERRRRRR" "ADD COOLANT" buzzer goes off... god. so I check the coolant, it's fine, but I fill it a little anyway, (mind you I forgot to unscrew the bleeder plug). So I check on here and I try unscrewing the bleeder plug and filling a little more anti-freeze. The buzzer still goes off and when the car is warm it'll randomly come on and off depending on the day for a few minutes. I tried to see if there is a pattern to it, trust me, there isn't. I tried the champagne test, my reservoir doesn't show bubbles ever, hot or cold engine. The buzzer dissapeared for a couple days and then yesterday I checked the coolant level, it's almost in the same spot I left it. However, I found a little coolant sitting on the radiator to the right of the air bleeder and left of the radiator cap. I'm thinking, maybe bad radiator cap? I haven't been leaking coolant like I thought I was, and the only other thing that happens is a strong, NOT-SWEET smell from the exhaust (probably unrelated due to my massive exhaust leak before my cat. Oil is/has been fine, temp gauge has been reading fine temps. Does anyone know if I have a possible seal-leak? Even with the champagne test fail?
I need to know because I desperately need a new vert top, and if my 13 is on it's way out, I won't spend the time-money on the top.
Sorry for the novel, thanks!

Honestly it sounds like you just have air stuck in the system. Just do a really thorough job of bleeding it (run the heater to open that passageway too). You can replace the radiator cap if you think it's leaking. Also, always check the coolant level by removing the cap (when cold!). Checking the level on the overflow reservoir doesn't tell you much.
