welcome to the board.

i won't claim to be up on every single part out there for Rx-7s, but i feel pretty confident in stating that there is no real (mass produced, generally advertised) turbo "kit" available for Gen I cars - neither 12A nor 13B. at least, i haven't heard of any since the days of Cartech and Mind Train.

you'll likely have to piece something together for yourself. while it's not easy, it's not as intimidating as it sounds. besides, it's been done enough times that you have resources to help you. that said, if you can't do the work yourself, you can browse some of the forum vendors and inquire what they can do for you. from memory, you can check with Rotary Shack.

I have never worked with turbos I have installed a few supercharges on gm stuff but rotary is a new world. I am intrigued to put one on the drag strip and play. But I would have to try and make it a little sleeper. They just seem to have a lot of performance potential

If you have some expierence with GM stuff you should consider doing some kind of swap. An LSX swap will get you in the 12-13sec range easily

Yeah I know I kinda feel like I would kill the personality of the car I run a 9 sec drag car that is 2150lbs with a 355 small block. I also thought a built up 4.3l would be fun. It would be fun to kick a little but with a rotary and watch people scratch their heads.

turbocharged 12As can be monsters! the potential is there, and at the end the end of the day the fundamentals are the same. it's an internal combustion engine. you have to find the balance between air/fuel, ignition, heat control, overall air flow, power and reliability just like you would with a GM, Honda, or Porsche engine. the only things that change are the equations and thresholds.

i'm simply saying if you want to give it a shot, the go for it. you just have to be prepared to learn the specific issues that a rotary brings to the table. your GM experience can be applied in broad strokes, but you will need to keep an open mind to learn the finer points.
