12a into 73 Courier, drivetrain offset?
Hello, Im in the process of putting the drivetrain from 82 rx7 into a 73 courier.
Im using the rx7 trans, I swaped out the tailhousing/shifter from a b2000 trans. It seems to line up with the factory shifter hole real slick like.
Ive got all the crossmembers and mounts from the rx7.
My question has do with centering the motor and trans between the frame rails (which are pretty narrow). It appears the drivetrain is offset to the side in the rx7??
The mount, and the cross member are not not real symmetrical....
If I offset it to driver side, gives me more room for header, but puts my whole drivetrain over.
Any thoughts on this?
thanks
Sean

I'd center the engine and get the best clearance that way..and then fab up from that.
Remember that you are not using ANY specs now that the engine had when it was IN The RX7.

the rotery power pick up was a mirror of the courier, they shared many of the same parts in the early years as mazda was building the chassis for ford in the early 70's.
