i need help please. i am turbocharging and going to build a megasquirt 2 system for my 12-a carb. i have all of the original stuff for the distribitor, but would rather modify some wheel speed sensors on 2 trigger wheels for the front pulley. i am going to run coil on plugs, probably some newer ford or gm coils. my questions are: what do i need with the megasquirt 2 to run the coils, boost control, trigger wheels/sensors, what other goodies to use . i am modifying my old 4-bbl intake to except six injectors, four for fuel, two for water injection, gm throttle body with iac and tps. gm injectors, or ford ones, have either. building my own turbo exhust manifold with a 40mm blow off valve, fun, thank god for a tube bender. t3/t4 turbo unit and a stand alone water cooling system for the water to air intercooler, what a project that is. any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you, kev.

 

Interesting combination of parts.

You can use the 2nd gen CAS to trigger the 'Squirt.

Coil on plug is rather odd. You would need to make a large bracket to mount the coils on the side of the engine and it will clutter up that area. The Megasquirt (MSI or MSII) will run the stock FC and FD coils. I don't think that trailing ignition is available on the Megasquirt when running indipendant coils.

 

thank you for the info. when is the 3 coming out? beta or what? you think it could have the possibility of 4 wheel traction control? my prototype is going to have four wheel drive. should be a rocket ship.lol i just found a 2nd gen cas. thanks again. i will try to get some photos up when i get a little farther along.
