exactly, pay the $100-$150 and get it done, why take a chance of it not passing when you can buy a guaranteed sticker?

I know the state knows it goes on, but am I just too old school that I think certain things should not be discussed on a public forum?

You can have a perfect setup and have bad plugs or tune that's too rich and still fail so no one is going to be able to tell you on a forum if you can pass or not. Take it to an inspection station and find out. Keep in mind they check for everything, not just emissions.

It all sounded on topic to me. Im just curious why you dont just wanna pay and guarantee a pass instead of risking failing. Rotary is so finicky even stock, so its a good chance you'll fail.

I posted to find out, not about how to get around the emissions test, but whether or not similarly set up cars have passed (without paying off the tester). I'm not asking anyone to say I'll pass with 100% certainty here. I just want to know what has happened to others with similar setups.

I dont live in NY but with those mods here in VA I'm fairly certain you would fail the test.

You don't have a chance without the air feed to the cat.

Keep in mind this is not a ceramic substrate cat like the bonez or OEM unit. The air pump still throws air into the system to burn the extra fuel. Backfires like a bitch when I run the air pump.

15 years ago I used to keep my cars registered upstate to avoid emissions testing. Guess it is still like that.

Safety only in certain areas.

They don't put the FD on the dyno rollers for annual NYS inspection? Why not? Because its 15+ years old?

1996 + requires emissions testing. Pre-1996 requires visual inspection of emissions equipment.

^^^ That is bogus information. Not only do I need to be on a sniffer, NY metropolitan area has more strict emissions standards.

Anyone run on the sniffer with Drygas in the fuel tank?

I think the law states that if your car is pre 1996 and it has something in the emissions missing you can pass so long as the car passes the sniffer.

The logic being that some OEM equipment is not availible anymore.

Newer cars they just plug in to the OBD port and the computer tells the machine how your **** is doing.
