Weld my turbine housing

Was driving my car a month ago and gave it a little gas and something in the exhaust sort of popped and the car got very loud. Uh oh.

Finally had a look this weekend and it looks like the downpipe flange attachment point popped off the turbine snail. I have not pulled the unit yet, so I can't see if is fixable with a simple reweld or if I need a new flange or snail. Turbo and engine appear to work perfectly - it is just insanely loud.

Anyone know the correct way to weld it? Tig? Any recommendations on a welder near Rockville, md are appreciated!

Thanks!

Yes aluminum def. Should be tig welded if u live in earstern pa I would help you out unless you wanna bring it up to the allentown area and I can weld it for you in exchange for some extra hands putting my engine together!! Also carl sagan was one of my favorite scientists... cleaver on the location.

"yes aluminum def." o.0

You could probably have it MIG or TIG welded with steel, clean and preheat the piece.

If its the flange on the exhaust side like I think you mean that should be cast and a mig weld would crack...tig welded with a nickle inconel alloy filler rod won't ever crack.
