Question Watkins Glen

just curious how many members in the northeast plan/attend any track days at watkins glen on a regular basis. i have always wanted to try this track and next year i plan on following through, so i was hoping to join an event where fellow rotaries may be...

any info/feedback is appreciated. thanks

I usually do the labor day week event up there, in advance of the vintage race/festival the following weekend... I just stay the week. It used to be a Trackmasters event, the last couple years it's been Chin.

Great time of year and great track. I missed it this year, but I'll be back next.

COM does an event there every year, as well as events at one or two of the Canadian tracks (Mosport, Calabogie, or Mt. Tremblant). There are a few rotary guys that run with them. Great club to run with. Well organized, plenty of track time, and a competitive time trial on the afternoon of the second day. They're also one of the cheaper clubs to run with. Usually $225/day or $400 for a two day event.

The time trial sets them apart from most other HPDE clubs in the Northeast. It adds a bit of fun to the event and you'll find that a lot of the drivers and instructors are quicker than what you'd find with other clubs because of this competitive element.
