Talking Vir?????

I just got off their site but couldn't find the info I was looking for. Does anyone know what it is called when you can go and race around on thier track. I basically need to know what I need for my car. Roll cage? Helmet? Harnesses? And I also need to know when they are having like a day you can go and whip your car around the track.

Thanks.

You need to find car clubs that have events at VIR (i.e. NASA, Chin, BMW, Porsche) and follow their rules. A better site than VIR would be http://www.nasaracing.net/hpde.htm

hope that helps

Fun!

Seriously, I don't think they offer a Friday At The Track (FATT) like Summit Point. I believe you'll need to go through one of the many clubs that hold DE events there.

The clubs usually establish the safety equipment rules.

Don't forget...

Basically you need...

1 - Helmet (SA2000)
2 - Mechanically sound car. No leaks, tires and brakes all work. Most clubs will require a technical inspection done by a mechanic.
3 - Recent brake flush.
4 - 300~350$ registration fee.

Thats about it. If you count room+food+gas, then you are probably looking at another 200$ at a minimum.

Roll cage and Harness, etc are not mandatory. If you have it, yes, it will be nicer since you will be safer, but do not let that stop you from getting to the track.

At a minimum, I recommend taking an extra set of brake pads.
