U-Wrench-It Va Beach

I was at U-Wrench-It Virginia Beach on Friday--Didn't look very closely, but there is a S4 FC convertible on the back row of the import section.

The engine and the seats are gone as are some of the interior components. Has the 5 lug suspension/brake setup on it that is still there. Top was in rough shape. Hood and fenders and doors were still there. The car is black. Didn't know if anyone needed anything but it's there if you need it.

I am a U-Wrenc-It junkie and hate wasting the trip and the dollar if there are no FC's.

Just FYI.

A little while back B&G Used Auto parts out near Bowers Hill (across from Hampton Roads Airport off of Rt58 actually) had several FB and FC RX7's. Some had bodies that were actually in great shape, so they obviously had blown engines and the owners never wanted to bother replaing engines. If you are making the trip up for U-Wrench-it you might also check them out to.... I should go out there again soon, if so I'll let you know what they have.

I was at Pick-N-Pull in Virginia Beach today(10/29/05) (formerly U-Wrench-It) and there is one FC that was on the back row. It is an 87, charcoal gray in color. Engine and tranny are gone but body is in good shape except for a gash in the driver's side door and a dent at the bottom of the driver's side fender. Maroon interior that was in pretty good shape. All glass is in tact at this point and the doors were closed, so maybe it hasn't been rained int. Has the 5 lug brakes but someone had already taken the fronts off. 2 wheels in decent shape were beside the car.

Just FYI for anyone that might need something!

The black S4 you mention . I am willing to bet that its a S 5 .It was a car that I sold over 1 yr ago . The idiot that bought it was a jerk . Was it an automatic with turbo rims ? I had another guy call me and almost gave me the car , But I have no where to put it . Was the engine still in it . I now need some power steering lines ???

Sorry for the confusion here. I put my update on U-wrench-it from today on an old thread from last summer. I don't remember much about the convertible that I referenced in my first post in the thread, except that the top was totally shredded on it.

I do know that on the 87 (was an n/a) that I saw today the steering rack was still there but the lines were gone. Whoever took the engine out of this thing just cut the wiring harnesses and all the lines and jerked it out. It seems that the FC's are getting harder to find in there. The last few I have run across have had engines missing. One thing that was interesting is that the odometer was at 240,000 miles. Hope mine lasts that long!

Sorry I couldn't be of more help!

yeah, the dude just ripped it out of the 87, he really didn't know what the engine was either, dammit. but he did get there before me... and i am gonna try to get the rest of that damned 5lug suspension tomorrow, but i lack proper tools to bring out there w/me. i pulled the calipers, i'm gonna do a tutorial on rebuilding all the 5-lug calipers in a week or so. anyone wanna go out there and help, it would be really appreciated...later

and about the 87, someone thought it would be a good idea to smash the drivers window... bastards...

there are no bearings in the calipers silly, well... except for the hand brake assembly in the rear calipers... and i spent most of my money, so all i can do is work on my car, trying to install my polurethane bushing kit, hoping no more bolts snap. my luck, they'll crush by tues, when i get paid...

Gotcha , it helps if I read every word . Brake calipers are super easy to rebuild

Good luck

well, yes they are. it's just that every time someone here that i have read, always say to leave the e-brake part alone, and that it's hard to re-do. well it's not...
