Have you talked to the guys at J-Spec?
https://www.jspecauto.com/index.html

dead_fc 05-23-16 08:02 PM

no i havent i have heard both good and bad things about there but then again i would be getting it rebuilt anyways before i even attempted to install it any ways. then i would have either find a running rx7 or a shell because honestly im tired of this ricer honda i had to get after i lost my rx7

niburu 05-25-16 08:58 AM

I have found driving the wife autotragic 98 Integra keeps my speeding way down.
I'm looking into first gens now since there are so many of them down here and a large Puerto Rican population.

dead_fc 05-25-16 09:30 AM

I think that I'll stick to the fc I don't know why but I just love the body lines of it. I guess it goes back to when I was younger and someone in the apartment complex I lived in had a t2 and I feel in love with it right there and then

niburu 05-25-16 12:36 PM

I figure I should own one of each gen once at least.
Hell I might even get an 8 while I'm at it since they're dipping below top end FC's for price now.

dead_fc 05-25-16 12:40 PM

Isn't that the damn truth now I saw one on Craigslist for a grand like 2 months ago with a blown motor I was like shit get then then do a fd swap and all will be good with it. Because the chassis of the 8 is beautiful in my opinion but the engine was garbage.

Rx7ADK 05-25-16 12:40 PM

Seriously, what's up with that? Even 8's with rebuilt motors are selling for nothing. WHy is that?

dead_fc 05-25-16 12:43 PM

It's because no one wants to deal with the engine really in the rx8

Rx7ADK 05-25-16 12:55 PM

I know one thing.....I've got a 93 FD and just now got her running and going and it is such a pleasure driving it. Lots of fun. Honestly, I can't really make the call yet because I haven't logged enough miles on the rotary FD, but it might be more fun than my FD ls swap.

dead_fc 05-25-16 01:11 PM

I would love to drive a fd just once in my life but they're still so pricy and we can't all be as lucky as niburu here and find one for 1000 bucks and only have to replace the fuel lines and it's good to go

I demand an explanation!

dead_fc 05-25-16 01:33 PM

A few years ago niburu found someone selling a non running 100% unmolested fd for a grand that hadn't run in years and all it took for him to get it running again was just replacing the fuel lines and battery if I remember correctly

Rx7ADK 05-25-16 01:51 PM

That's just.....just......

dead_fc 05-25-16 01:52 PM

I'm sure niburu will chime in about it when he sees the posts

niburu 05-26-16 12:06 PM

It was $1500.
I didn't need to replace the fuel lines at all.
just some fresh gasoline, new battery and new spark plugs.
Then I had it painted and new vacuum lines put on the turbo by Delta V.
Sold it for $9k.
That money got re-used for:
98 S14 that got sold for a 2002 BMW 325i, then came the 83 911 Targa, and finally spent out for the move to Tampa.

Then there was that 91 panda FC I had briefly which also sold for more than what I paid.

Still got the 90 Miata stored at my parents place up in Stuarts Draft.
When I have the house with a garage and money I'll have it shipped down, I'd love to buy LeSparkles (aka Jessica to some) back from Pierce while I'm at it.

dead_fc 05-26-16 12:08 PM

See and there you have it. Still though 1500 for a fd I still hate you you lucky bastard lol. Do you still have the Miata?

see editted post above

short answer is yes

saddly the 911 sale was a wash financially, as I went to sell it the wiring harness for the dash started smoking

dead_fc 05-26-16 12:17 PM

Don't know how I missed the last part of your post maybe because I'm using my phone to view the posts lol.

I think I'm gonna look for a vert shell or one with a blown motor and do a re swap because I really want a very and boosted 7

niburu 05-26-16 12:23 PM

this is the crazy shit I see on CL down here

it's probably a good thing i dont have a usable garage yet

but we're looking at houses now

dead_fc 05-26-16 12:26 PM

Damn I think I might have to start saving up and have you look for a runner for me and I'll fly down and get it and drive it back up here that's crazy the selection down there

niburu 05-26-16 12:41 PM

city/state full of PR's
gonna be rotary projects everywhere

get this, in Florida there are no emissions and no inspections AND the DMV AND the popo don't give a fuk

and no state income tax, etc.....

dead_fc 05-26-16 12:54 PM

Wow that's such shit there aren't emissions here where I live. Just aren't that many running projects here. And I would fly down there and want to be able to drive it back here
