RHD CYM in NJ--Albert Saavedra Jr.
Does anyone know a guy with a RHD CYM FD in New Jersey by the name of Albert Saavedra Jr.? I ask as I sent him money for some fender flares, but he had some trouble shipping them, then wrecked his car so didn't have money to ship, and now I haven't heard from him in a month.
Paypal doesn't provide any protection when you send money to "friends and family" so I have no recourse there. That sucks as I've been buying and selling part here for 10+ years with very few issues. Feeling the need to protect payments just takes money out of the RX-7 community pockets
With that, if anyone knows him and can talk some sense into him I'd love to have the flares or the money I paid for them.
He is jayr_ on here.
Thanks
Luke

I'd post this in the bad guy section. Make sure you try every avenue to contact him first though.

Well, the saga continues. I tried to touch base on Monday for shipping details, but didn't get a response. Tried again last night and nothing again.
There isn't a need to apologize for confusion as this isn't a confusing situation.

If you see a CYM FD with big Flipzco sticker on the windshield, that's the guy.

Correct.
I got a response on Wednesday that his phone broke over the weekend causing the lack of communication and the parts not being able to be shipped. Crickets since then.

Yeah, I didn't have a problem with the broken phone. I was hoping his post in this thread on 01-15-16 meant he had turn a leaf and that it would be over. Any resemblance of being a better parts trader was then lost by him not following up here or on FB when he wasn't able to follow through.
I didn't need the flares immediately in Sept when I bought them and I still don't need them immediately now. I just would like the parts or money for it all to be over.
I was understanding the first two months even though it was excuse after excuse because he was communicative. It isn't until he goes silent when that patience lessens.

I sent the payment via Paypal using the Friends and Family option. Something I've always done with members to avoid being hit with a fee, but this route does cause you to loose the buyer protection you get with the vendor/retailer route. Something I didn't know until I explored it in this case and makes it a questionable move going forward.

Nothing. I'm sent him a few texts, PMs on here, etc. but no response.
New social media sightings of him around other RX-7 owners which makes me think it's strange that he doesn't mind being a deadbeat parts trader. Also strange if they know he is a deadbeat parts trader and aren't willing to help him.

He may just need a ride to wherever to ship them. The fender flares may not fit in his hatch. Who knows.

Hey c00lduke, sorry to hear about the problems your having with another forum member. I've been there before so I know how it feels. Although I'm not close with Albert, I'll reach out to him for you to see if he has any information on the fenders. If I hear back from him, I'll let you know.

I'm really sorry to hear that you're having issues like this. I did that "friends & family" option before and got burned as well (in the Subaru community, not the rx7 one). Ever since then I no longer do that! It's a shame because it's worked so many times and it was nice to save someone the fee $$$, but never again will I do that! Hope it works out for you though.

Well, I figured I would hold out hope for the extra day provided by the holiday this weekend just to make sure there wasn't any ambiguity around what "this weekend" means, but no luck.
I haven't heard anything regarding the shipment so at this point I presume he still hasn't.
