Pittsburgh Area
Hay whats up guys i just picked up a 86 RX7 this past weekend and figured i would post and see who is all in the area.
I searched and there have been a few threads that where pretty old so i figured i would make a new one.
Other then this forum im on pittspeed(flame fest if not a V8) and mazda247
I also have a orange Mazdaspeed Protege that i have built up, but i would love to get a nice meet one weekend.
Theirs about 5-8 of us that get together for some food, bsing, pics and make some videos.
Mainly its MSP and 3's and a few 6's as of now, im hoping to bring the local RX7 crowd into the mix.
Also i set up mazda dyno days for the pittsburgh area, we had one a few months ago and im thinking of trying to get another one set for fall. 40 bucks for 3-4 pulls and its on a mustang dyno.

You need to hook up with the West Penn Mazda Club (formerly the West Penn RX-7 Club) when you get here. It would be great to have another 1st gen... as long as it doesn't look nicer than mine. lol Here is the link:

OKTOBERFEST ACTIVITIES ANNOUNCED
Oktober 10, 2009
Save the Date
Let's face it, summer is almost over. Despite our efforts to prolong our favorite season, soon enough, the weather will change and leaves will begin to fall from trees, providing us all with months of raking and bagging.
There is some good news however.. At BeaveRun, we have decided to host "Oktoberfest," an autumn day dedicated to showcasing European Automotives. Although the weekend is dedicated to European vehicles, all makes, models and years are welcome to attend and participate in all of the following activities;
If it is our North Course that interests you, we have many lapping exercises to accommodate any driver.
Hot Laps - Let one of our Driving Professionals take you on the track for high speed laps in one of our race ready vehicles for just $5.
Parade Laps - Free with general admission. Follow a pace car and take laps around the track in your own vehicle.
Flat Out Lapping - Experience the best lapping package we offer..Drive your own vehicle on track. A BeaveRun Driving Professional will accompany you around the track as you orient yourself with our 12 turn, 1.6 mile smile. Cost is $10 for approximate 10 minute sessions (actual runtime may vary, dependant on number of participants)
A car control clinic will be held 9:00 to 12:00 Saturday Morning. It is open to anyone. It will consist of classroom instruction and two 20 minute sessions on the North Track with an Instructor. Cost for the Car Control Clinic is $90.
Don't forget about our VDA Thrills. Six acres of open asphalt will be available for AutoX, line up against a competitor or against the clock. Our Driving Professionals will be showcasing two of our favorite thrills, BeaveRun Gymkhana & Drifting. Stop by the VDA during Oktoberfest to see demonstrations of both.
Flashlight Drags return to BeaveRun - Street Racing without the jail time. Join the fun of Flaslight Drags for only $25
The Oktoberfest fun does not end on Saturday, join us for a special Sunday FOD, October 11.

Greetings Fatti, I recently moved to Pittsburgh with my 86NA and I have not seen another rux in 3 weeks. I am glad to hear there are others in the area. I saw the western penn mazda club ....I guess thats where ya'll schedule meets ( yes I said ya'll I'm from the dirty) hope to catch up and hang out some time I'm the other fat kid in the loud FC
Just recently purchased a single turbo FD. It has a fresh rebuild with 800miles on the clock. I live right below Washington PA and was wondering if any FD guru's could show me around my car. Rather learn from someone experienced than learn the hard way(pop).

Fatti - concerning octoberfest
I went up there many years ago with my 3 series. I thought it was a german car only event. Are they willing to give space to the mazda guys? I am planning on going up this year.
For everyone else in the area, I live in the Cranberry Twp area with my '93 single turbo.

Hey i moved from GA to west PA a few months ago. I'm on driftpa.com and its a great group of guys. If you guys want to help out I'm dropping in my 13bt in my 87 rx7 in a few weeks. I also am looking for some more rotor heads to hang out with.
cool, sounds like we might be able to get something together! I had a hand in starting the OGTA (old guys w/ 12a's) club in GA back in 03' with just 3-4 people, now we regularly get 15-20 cars out every meet.(mostly 1st gens) Ill be in Prospect,PA, kinda close to Cranberry
