PA PA emissions

I searched a little bit but only found a couple of threads on emission info in the state of PA.

I'm looking at an FD with no catalytic converter or air pump etc. and it seems that it's not legal to drive in this state that way. If I find someone to pass it and I get pulled over, I get fined as well as the shop who gave me the sticker.

So I guess my only solution is to buy these parts and install them. What do they roughly run for a 93 FD?

I'm assuming none of these parts are installed on it:

http://www.ahs2.dep.state.pa.us/aq_a...s/testinfo.htm

* Catalytic converter
* Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve
* Positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) valve
* Fuel inlet restrictor
* Air pump
* Evaporative control system components such as vapor canisters and lines.

I think it's only a visual test.

Dude most shops are clueless to what should be under the hood of our cars.Plus how much do you drive it if it under a certian mileage you can get the car exempt after the first year

Well I do know someone who will pass it with just a cat installed, and that's what I figured, that they don't really know what to look for. Cops don't either from what I've heard of around here, people drive around daily without emissions stuff and even if they get pulled over, never have their hoods popped.

You can't get an exempt sticker the first year of ownership though, but I'll be able to next year. I'll probably be driving this thing once or twice a week since it's getting colder out and it'll start snowing soon.

If it's an early FD, you can register it as a Classic car (15 years old or older) and then it will not need to be emission tested. Check out the PA web site, Department of Transportation.

I definitely have someone lined up who used to check my brother in law's cars (Honda nut) so passing wouldn't be a problem, I was just kind of worried about ever getting pulled over. From what I've read though, they don't know to check for anything else other than a cat.

Thanks for the info guys, I really only have to worry about it for the first year, after that I can get the exemption sticker since I won't drive it more than 5000 miles a year.
