NYC Rotary Meet 06

undefined
Hey for you rotoheads in NYC. I want to start setting up a meet for the upcoming year I would like to get some ideas of a good place to meet & not really need a permit for the meet although in Bklyn i have a politician pal that could get me a permit for the parking lot of HighLand pk off of the Jackie Robinson pkwy. My RX is running but will be under construction gonna put my 13b & stick tranny & SE suspension in on this FB, but anyway Im gonna post the same on MySpace.com's RX7 clubs to see if in NYC we can get a big turnout would like to try for like may 06 so the word gets around & people have time to prep there cars for the spring/summer thanks Rotary peeps. If it's gonna have a big turnout maybe I can find the person who was setting up a meet in LI & see how they went about it so we can meet there. There are alot of rotaries in NYC and I know there are alot of ideas to share but we need to have like a meet . Ive met alot of guys that like the idea it's just getting it into motion so Im starting this so early so we will be ready by 2006

Thanks Rotary peeps

Me and Haze (maxboost13brx) have been talking about holding rotary events starting next year in early may, so that for the summer we can have weekly meets with fellow rotary heads.

All clubs from NY are invited to come and any ideas and suggestions are widely appreciated. I am working on getting a rotary crew for NYC and LI , westchester going for this summer cooming up, and so far its look VERY promising. I am talking to many members and collecting names for the club, ya know who you are. As we all know people always have conflicts in schedules but thats life but if we can set aside a few hours a week to discuss and exchange knowledge on our passion which is rotaries, then we can help build a solid community for NY. Dont get me wrong any rotaries cars are welcome to come even rotary powered lawnmowers lol

So if you are interested , please leave some ideas for events and locations.

Feel Free to IM me at NYCRotaryRocket iight

YEA!!! this si the kinda **** that needs to be happening. My fc is lonely in a world surrounded by wind ups and family sedans turned fast and furious. Someoen do me a favor and Pm me for anything thats happening. Im in.

It sucks that Li meet bombed but the weather was bad and they changed the date so im sure whoever made plans to come saturday was no longer free on sunday (if you maintain your 7, you must have a job). great effort on the part of the planner, though.

As for a meeting place there is a Best Buy on Bay Pkwy that has a huge empty parking lot. A few other small car crews meet up there before going out to do their ricer runs, but there plenty of space and from what ive experienced no police presence.

There was a parking fee for that Li meet also just incase you plan on using the same location.

Yeah im trying real hard to get the word out thats why scheduled it for next year one to give everyone time to prep there RX7 god knows mine is running but not with my set up. I had alot of rust on my other 83 so i brought another and it's borring automatic so im gonna Frankenstein it & transplant all the SE stuff from my other one and Streetport or bridgeport my 13b & place it in this body by spring. So i can enjoy the drive where ever we fibalize the meet. I guess it depends on how many people will come. I can ask my friend who is running for a asmblymans spot to get me a permit for highland pk Bklyn off of the jackie robinson or we can meet in flushing meadow qns or LI state parks all depends on the Rotarie owners

Its a lil slow now haze but it will pick up soon, when im done with this semester ima put more time into getting this better worked out. Theres many people especially in the 5 boroughs that cant hang out cause theres nothing every planned in here, we are always depending on a NJ meet or LI meet where you dont know whats going to happen. So maybe now we can plan meets and we know we will come even if others dont come thru at least we local dudes can still chill.

We got a good amount of time to get this ready for may 06 lol

Yeah Jason thats why im planning so far in advance hoping that the word gets out and we can have a great event set up and also so we know how many people are willing to meet. That will help us pic a good location. Flushing meadow has a parking lot that is by the Arthur ash stadium like past the miniture golf course which i knwo they wont bother us at. theres also a side by College point Blvd cause i think the one by the Van Wyck may attract attention we had a meet there and once people opend there hoods the park police came to tell them to close them. But thats why im spreading the word months in advance.
