DC is fine with me in terms of location, but driving around in DC is what i'm worried about. Better have directions in case ppl get split up by traffic/stop lights cause you can't use cell phones.
Would be a GREAT place for photo's though.

Here...I got a compromise. Lets pick something in Alexandria, off GW Parkway. The VA and northern MD guys can meet up and drive down from the beginning of GW Parkway, down to where we're meeting (one of the scenic stops/parks etc). Great drive, lots of curves, and beautiful scenery, while affording safe parking and non pothole-riddled roads

^ That sounds like a good idea, and not just because its close by me. I think the Washington Sailing Marina would be a good place to meet, since you can catch it going either direction on the GW Parkway. Good size parking lot, bathrooms, snackbar, and a restaurant.

Just a suggestion. Roosevelt Island would be cool too, a little harder to get to though.

Time: 12:00 pm (noon)
Place: Washington Sailing Marina, right off of GW Parkway

Directions: http://www.washingtonsailingmarina.com/directions.html
Location has a good size parking lot, bathrooms, snackbar, and a restaurant. If RX-7s will be involved (you know how most 7 meets turn out lol), a cruise would be great, and I'm open for suggesstions re: where to eat (at th Marina or elsewhere).

As far as places to cruise: up and down the Parkway is good for scenic straight roads, or if you want some twisties we could go to old Georgetown Pike. It brings you into Great Falls, and you can double back to get on the beltway again. We could all stop at the park there, but I think they charge like 5 dollars.
Shall we get a list going?

Lets stick to the Parkway. Not to sound father-like, but I'm 100% against advocating ANYONE going down Georgetown Pike who isn't EXTREMELY familiar w/ it, ESPECIALLY when emotions are high (as they tend to be during a 7 cruise). So I *strongly* disagree w/ it. I want to make sure everyone gets home in one piece. Georgetown Pike is one of THE most dangerous roads I've ever come across...

Man Ramy your starting to be a buzz kill. First you did not want hooters (which I stil can't figure out what you could possibly not like about it) now no winding roads? You didn't seem to have a problem with me blasting down GW pkwy at 140mph back at that Chipotle meet. Come on now let's have some fun.

Dave lol. Sorry to be such a party pooper.
1) I have religious/moral issues w/ Hooters
2) Trust me, I'm no safety and speed limit freak. You're right, I loved riding shotgun while we FLEW down GW Parkway. And that's what I suggest we do again (so everyone bring your radar detectors).
But Georgetown Pike is a COMPLETELY different animal. And I'm not the only person to think so... (see below). At the end of the day, I can't dictate what we can or can't do. It's up to you guys. All I'm going to say is, IF you guys choose to do Georgetown Pike, I won't be taking ANY reponsibility for neither this meet nor anything that may happen during it. I can forsee what probably will happen when someone loses it around one of the series of blind hairpin turns on Georgetown Pike (as me how I know ), and the LAST thing I want is to endanger someone's life, damage their car, and (the least of my worries) be remembered as the guy who set up the meet that wrecked half of the area's 7's
~Ramy
PS: I had a friend who has G-T Pike MEMORIZED lose it in his S2K (which is quite a forgiving car mind you), and ended up with $7K in damages...

I have a video here on my computer of my friend going off the road there trying to keep up with my 7 in his Sentra.... It's not good quality because it is very dark, so don't bother asking me to post it... not worth it... He missed two very large trees by less than a foot on each side of his car. It would have been totalled for sure if he wasn't lucky.

* By day, your main danger other than pure stupidity is going to be bicyclists (in nice weather). These crazy guys DO ride down there and you could EASILY mow one down. The other very real danger is that a lot of people especially in SUVs and minivans drive on BOTH sides of the road around some of the very tight and blind corners. If you're hauling *** at 60 mph, and they're doing 20 the other way but in the middle of the road... a mess can happen FAST. At night, the bicycles are gone, and you can SEE the headlights of any vehicles that might be coming the other way around the corners... so that's good. Deer are your main threat at night. I prefer to drive the road at night if I'm really trying to speed. By day, it's nice but you should really restrain yourself where you can't see well.
* There are no shoulders and no room for mistakes. Period. Most parts on the road have big trees less than 2 feet off the roadway. If there aren't big trees, it's because there's a 4 foot deep rock-filled ditch. Nice place to wipe out huh?
* Surprise gravel is a problem. Because of the soil and pebbles near the edge of the roadway, a lot gets washed onto the road because of rain and can accumulate *right* where you're trying to cut a nice apex. Wipeout!
* Surprise wet spots are also a problem. Because the area is heavily wooded (forming shady spots), you can hit a wet spot even if it hasn't rained for 2 or 3 days sometimes. Hope your insurance is paid up.
* Wet leaves are a nice surprise in the fall.
* Getting airborn is a possibility too. There are a few areas where you go over a hill at 70 mph and you'll get all 4 wheels off the pavement. There is usually a nice set of deep gouges in the road on the other side where people "land" and bottom out. In case you haven't figured it out, landing hard can seriously upset the handling of the car and could lead to a wreck. Getting a "little air" where you barely barely leave the surface is fun... but if you're going way too fast you could have a real problem.
* A fun route is to get off 495, take Gtown pike west. Then take a right on route 603 (I forget the name of the road... I think Riverbend?). Take a left on Beach Mill... then a right on Walker... you can mess around all back in there... very very dangerous.
* Overall I rate this as the MOST dangerous set of roads I know of within 15 min of Rockville. It is also the most fun. There are crosses, flowers, and teddy bears along the roadside in many places to remind you to slow down.
* Another fun road that is more forgiving is MacArthur Boulevard on the Maryland side of the river.

I'm sure some of you will bring camera's and such to take pics of the cars and such, but i'd be more than glad to make CD's for ppl. By no means am I a professional photographer but I know some of you have seen my numerous threads with pics of my car before. Trust me, i'll have hundreds of pics worthy.
(shamless self-promotion i know)

Haha, even though I suggested it, after thinking about it, it's probably a bad idea. There's a lot of blind corners, blind crests, and not to mention all the leaves on the ground this time of year. I'd rather have someone get a speeding ticket on the Parkway, then hurting themselves or anyone else.
