NH, Mass, Maine Rotorfest caravan
wow this is crazy, in order to be around new haven by like 7:45am, we'd have to depart manchester here by 5:30am! thats not including a route to merge with any MA guys. im gonna keep my eyes and ears open to meeting up with any guys in MA, so i will get more info out on a more exact plan ASAP!
i didnt wanna sign onto anything until my car was in my possession. well, my car is now in my possession; so im all in.
i live off of rte. 20 in Charlton and 10 minutes from 84 in CT, and i figure most people will have to take the Mass Pike to 84. if you guys wanna meet me somewhere off the Mass Pike before we hit 84, that would be cool.
i set up the cruise last year (https://www.rx7club.com/ne-rx-7-forum-30/new-england-rotorfest-caravan-553518/) and everything worked out well as far as a meeting spot and times were concerned.
My proposal: everyone from Central Ma area meet up at Cracker Barrel on Rte 20 in Sturbridge (Exit 9 Rte. 20 Charlton Exit off Mass Pike or 290 to Rt. 20 or 146 to Rt. 20) and the Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Rhode Island (?) caravan's can meet us there at 6.30 (yes its early, but New Jersey isnt exactly down the street.)
WHERE:
Cracker Barrel; 215 Charlton Road (Rt. 20), Sturbridge, Ma 01566.
WHEN:
July 8th, 2007 6:30 AM for Central Ma meeting point.
Hopefully leave Cracker Barrel with all Caravans by 7:00
HOW:
In an orderly fashion. we all have fast cars and 10" *****, but we dont need to prove it. I personally have matured a lot in my driving style, so dont be surprised if i am only doing 75mph most of the way. You are all responsible for yourselves, so do whatever you want; it wont be my ticket. I'll have my own directions so if i have to cruise down by myself while everyone else flies the whole way down, so be it. I dont mean to sound like a *****, it's just irresponsible to be cruising in and out of lanes at high rates of speed. Plus it makes RX-7 owners look bad, as a whole. Remember the VW kids that were on the news from waterfest? i dont want the cruise to end up like that. Once you guys get to the NYC caravan meeting spots, you're on your own. I have never seen as many cars going so damn fast on a public road as i saw on the caravan from New York to New Jersey last year.
let me know what you guys think. We still have 3 weeks, so theres still a lot of time to iron out the details.
ill be talking to Jason to figure out the other caravan's details as well, so everything will be covered with timing.
any questions or complaints, feel free to PM me.

^ yo zumps its so good to have you back. Yeah last year we were going a bit nuts, but dont like i got you on VIDEO doing 150mph so dont even act like you were being such a good motorist. It was fun last year, and everyone is welcome to join in the festivisties. As zumps said its up to you what you do once your on the road. We had 55 cars roll to Island for ROTORFEST, some got there faster (me and about 20 other guys) and some came 20-35 minutes after us (the cruisers). Regardless you will be on the road with no less than 5 rotarys powered vehicles
So hope to see you all there!

Rick, if I can get any ME-NH guys outta Manchester by shortly after 5am, we could probably be at the Cracker Barrell sometime around 6:30-6-45am. Still very loose right now in terms of things being confirmed, but im pushing this hard to get things rolling. Im all about orderly fashion, no need to cause problems. Caravaned with some friends to the Wicked Big Meet in Princeton last weekend, it was very well organized, and managed to have 15-20 cars stay in line all the way. So if things work out we can have a damn good caravan to Great Meadows. Any suggestions, PM me please. Thanx!

trust me, it feels good to be back. i finally can feel what a fast car feels like and what spending $55 on a full tank of gas feels like. i missed watching the numbers rise so high so fast.

sounds like a good plan. im not even sure who i have in my caravan yet. if it's just me, then i can meet everyone at the most convenient spot; along the way of course.
im also a subaru owner (04 LGT) but i missed WBM this past weekend. i saw the pics on NASIOC, it looked like a lot of fun.
Sounds like a good plan! I am down as long as I can figure out my new issues with the car.....seems now I am getting erroneous readings from my map sensor and the PFC thinks I am pushing 16lbs of boost without the car running. Anyway, I plan on troubleshooting Tuesday and Wednesday so hopefully things go well. I will keep the thread up to date.
I might be in, I would be driving my 860rwhp, 140bhp rx7
. We will see ho much extra cash I have on me for gas, I suppose as long as we hit shell stations I will be all set
Thats a day I work so I hope to get it off.
How do you get down there? That is such a bad lcoation for a "furniture mall". Do you take your very next right after getting on south willow from 293 heading toward home depot?

Also probably be meetin a 5:00am, last call we roll out at 5:15, gonna try and make Cracker Barrel in Sturbrigde MA for 6:30 - 6:45... and I guess if all worx out roll out with them by 7:00am!

but seriously, i have slowed down a lot. somewhat due to the fact ive been stuck in a 165hp (not to all wheels) subaru over the year, but also because i need to bring my driving steps and insurance premium down; so i've changed my driving style. im pretty much throwing a single turbo kit at my car each year for insurance. it's no fun. all because of my stupid mistakes from the past (which none were for speeding.)
anyways, is your RX-7 back on the road? i havent seen or heard from anyone in the area in a while. no one seemed to make it to the S3 meet.
this is true; 3 lefts do make a right
i like where your heads at.
so i think im the only person heading down to RotorFest from the central Massachusetts area. how are you guys heading down from New Hampshire? im wondering if i should meet up with you guys, or if i should just head straight down to meet up with the New York Caravan and just head in with everyone from there. let me know.
EDIT- i just saw you guys were planning on meeting 'us' at Cracker Barrel for 6.45; if that's on your way, im all for it. if its outta your guys' way, ill meet you guys somewhere thats convenient for you guys. no sense in goin outta the way for 1 person.

yeah zumspd, i was just 'hoping' to meet with you and a few others, but if its just you i will see if there is a quick route to pick you up, or i would say that you might wanna go meet the NY group, i will let you know asap!

Well, using mapquest, im not really getting a quicker route other than to head 495 to mass pike to 84, so if you wanna do that, can still meet ya around sturbridge i guess, im having a hard time gathering all other meetin points for NY/NJ caravans, cause i dont really know the area down there, so maybe you can make arrangments from Ma to where we could pick up others? Aaa i dont know lol! I guess its your call...!

Google is better then Mapquest. Mapquest gives a long of false directions. I suppose the only thing its good for are highway directions. I used to be a driver for a company in Nashua and customers and co-workers always gave my mapquest directions and they were 8 out of 10 times wrong. I started throwing them away and going by the map book
yeh rotaman, i hear ya, i am a driver too, and i dont touch mapquest, use the good ole mapbook, and its usually 99% accurate. but as much as i like gettin there directly, i wanna stay more highway. I been to rotorfest multiple time, but only from keene way, so it was rt 10 to I91. Any ideas would be good too...
