MSCW Monthly meeting, October 5th!
MSCW Monthly meeting, October 5th!
Snipped from website:
MSCW meets at Fuddruckers (703-821-8582) restaurant located at 1587 Spring Hill Road, one block south of Route 7 in Tyson’s Corner (Vienna), VA, 22182-2200. We meet on the FIRST Wednesday of each month (unless otherwise noted above). Socializing starts at 7:00pm followed by the indoor meeting at 7:30pm.
Meetings are generally 1 hour in duration and average 60 members in attendance with over 50 Mazdas in the parking lot. Weather permitting many members and guests can be found in the parking lot both before and after the monthly meeting.
People actually start showing up around 6:30, and many of us go out afterwards... Every month, something new or different shows up... Lately, one guy has been coming with a convertible FB...

Hey,
I have an idea for MSCW. How about having meetings on a Friday night or Saturday. Some of us do have to work for a living and a meeting that starts at 7:30 and lets out at 8:30-9pm (I guess) and then add at least a hour and a half drive time and that is just too late when you get up at 4am for work. For that matter, I probably couldn't event get there by 7:30 on a weekday in the evening traffic. This really frustrates me because I have wanted to participate in the club.
....rant over....

RX-Midget, I feel you on that. I'm happy I live right next to the meet, cuz otherwise, getting anywhere in the NoVa area before 7:30 is virtually impossible. Oh and btw, I saw your weldwork on Mark's Ultima. AMAZING. My hat's off to you sir

My buddy Ryans older brother Danny had the Jackson Racing supercharger on his MX-5 in 2002. Before most any other that I had seen or heard of at the time. The three of of us did the install & Ray did all the tuning at Peters old shop. All in all it was faster but it was still just a miata. Dan grew tired of the car and ended up selling it . I drove it on several occasions and I would take a stock 3rd gen over a supercharged MX-5 anyday. . Miata is a nice car but I am not a fan of little roadsters. The guys down at MSCW seem to like them though.
edit: With the exception of "Ye old Midget" !! That is one roadster I can appreciate.

I mean it's weak as hell. We have meets wayyy too far and few in between, and most guys don't know one another. I'd like to change that. I keep on meeting and running into new ppl w/ FD's and other rotaries every now and then. But other places in the country w/ much less rotaries put us to shame. That's my rant.

Agreed, lets do a monthly meet at HOOTERS.
NO MIATAS ALLOWED.
Not meaning to hijack the thread, but RX-Midget I intended to get over and meet you at the Labor Day weekend trial event at the Summit Point Jefferson Circuit. I assume it was your midget at that event. I was up there at the MDA school over on Shenandoah, but I was camping with my friends Stan Vann, Dave Cutchins, Allen Goode, and Mark Wilson in your pit area. Maybe next time.
I guess I have been wanting to go up and visit the rotary scene up around DC (I live in SE VA). I guess if it were on a Friday or Saturday it would be easier to come visit. Our rotary club is pretty good in this area. We are a much smaller area, but have done pretty good.

My friends were Stan (in a white Caldwell FF), Mark (in a GT2 Capri), Allen (in a vintage TR4), and Dave (in blue Swift FF). They all make most of the TT events. I used to club race a GT1 car, but with kids in college I am relegated to instructing HPDE type events in a first gen with peeling clearcoat. I will definately look you up next time.
