Mind Boggled :Wconfused

OK! so here is my problem.

i've been sourcing parts for my Tii swap for i'll say a little over 2 1/2 months.
what i've realized is that some parts are SO hard to find ima bout to kill myself.

On top of that, after i crunched some #s and it seems like the swap is beginning to be not as worth the $$ as i thought it would. so what do u guys say?

keep my NA and continue swap or just go and buy a Tii?

and that becomes another problem btw.. finding a Tii around NY for sale is another task on its own.. SiGh..

note: anyone wanna suggest me to some shops in NY so i can maybe search for prices for the swap while i'm at it?

thanx a bunch guys

It will always be cheaper to buy a car that is already put together. Piecing together parts can get real pricy!

One option you have is to buy a JDM turbo setup for that with tranny and ECU. They are usually low mileage and in great shape. I hear there is a good import near you.

If you want to buy one, I know where there is a TII approximately 3 1/2 hours from you for sale.

I did a swap 3-4 years ago and it ran me 3500 with a rebuilt engine. Full drivetrain and motor swap. Almost everything was stock T2.

What parts do you need?

i'm looking at the rear end and harness.. i think tat's the biggest problem.

b/c i've got a few offers thrown at me but none of it worked out.

so far what i'm looking at is that parts alone would run around this...

*sry if my math is wrong.. i tend to overestimate a little bit..*

btw.. this is my spread sheet

Part
Complete Motor *Motor/Tranny/ECU* - $1300
Harness - $200
Fuel Pump - $100
Spark Plugs - getting that last.
Rear End: ~500-600 *hopefully
Axle
Drive Shaft
LSD
Throttle Cable - $60
Pressure Sensor - $70
ECU - /w motor
O2 Sensor -
Fuel Meter -
Intake Piping - $50
FCD - $100
Oil Filter - $30??
Clutch Slave Cylinder - /w motor
Downpipe - $100

Labor - $1000 *i'm not too sure.. someone actually shot me 1500..*

more or less around the ~ $3.5k mark. which is what i'm expecting.

HOWEVER, sourcing the rear end is a biotch. I mean i'm not exactly in a hurry for the parts but it's just frustrating i guess.

b/c i'm planning to do the swap by.. hopefully late july/early august.

now if i can't find the LSD/Axle i might have to go get the expensive stuff.. then it'll cost me a lotta money~ tat's why. *i don't wanna spend 5k+ on a swap*

i guess i'm just venting. lol, bare wit me fellas.

but yea.. i mean i'm working on the body and other parts of the car right now so i'm putting the Tii swap on hold. but i'll probably continue on sourcing parts.

tat's why it'd be great if someone can recommend me a shop or throw me a number on how much they spent on everything. maybe tat'd give me a better idea. cuz all i can say is that i love my S5NA rite now and i don't wanna get rid of it and get another car cuz i kno mine runs well.

btw.. how much should i expect for labor on a swap honestly?
