Mazda sponsored event at New Jersey Motorsports Park this weekend!

Hey guys!

I didn't see a thread for this event yet, so I wanted to make sure all of you were aware of the event this weekend at New Jersey Motorsports Park.

www.UrbanRacer.com/formulaX

Redline has been hired to sanction the time attack portion of the event. There will be cash prizes awarded to the winner of each of the 6 Divisions competing this weekend. $1000 to the winner of Street divisions and $1500 awarded to the winner of Modified divisions. AND... if you win with a Mazda vehicle, Mazda is going to throw in another $1000.

This is a great chance for those of you with FAST Mazda's to come out to the track, have fun driving/racing your car on a top notch, brand new track, AND have a chance at $1000+ in cash for winning.

There is still plenty of time to register for this event. If you have any questions, you can always send an email to:

Info@RedlineTimeAttack.com

or call us at

661-992-4384

Leaving the house around 6:30 to get there early. I'll be showing. Should be a fun event.

I was driving in the Time Attack. Saturday was carnage on the track, with two Evos going off course in the decreasing radius and playing smash-em-up derby, on the FIRST GREEN LAP. Ended our session, and one of the Evo drivers went to the hospital with cracked ribs. This could have been avoided if the corner workers had thrown a yellow flag and slowed people down in that section, the car that went off and hit the first one was apparently like 7 cars back. I came into the turn 2-wide with a faster car that I had just given a point-by, and we came bombing in to see two crashed cars off track and still no yellow flag!

In our second session a 240SX laid down oil around the entire track, and managed to hit every apex along the way. This ended our second session and delayed the start of one of the pro races by 40 minutes. You can guess how happy they were about that.

Sunday was much more uneventful, with some great driving to be had. The track and facility are beautiful.
