Guys, for anyone in the area, i want to buy s5 body trim. Front bumper and the side skirts. If you guys have anything, ESPECIALLY if its BLACK, i want to know. Im sick of the s4 trim, the s5 looks so much sexier!

i have always just kept it in my front window and still get harassed and like gen said, i tell them the brackets in the mail along with my stock exhaust. it was fine before with the R sticker, but now that i finally have a real sticker i dont know what theyre going to say. im hoping to not find out.

how is your car coming along, Pete? im excited to see it. did you have any rubbing with your RPF1s on the first car? im really liking the weight of them and need tires and am considering getting a set in 17s.

I had a little rubbing in the left front coming out of a turn at Tremblant. It was funny. Just that one turn on that one track and only the left front and I never could find where it was rubbing. I ran 17x8.5 and 255/40/17 in the front and 17x9.5 and 275/40/17 in the rear. That was with shaved RA-1s. I used the highest offset available. I forget what it was.

I got an S5 front bumper you can have for like 30 bucks. It's got a big crack in the grille that you could fix if you really wanted to. And it's already black.

Yes very. But my car needs to be in tiptop shape, which it isn't right now.

What are the rules? How do I know if I'm going to pass tech, etc.?

That sounds right. If I were to do it again, I'd buy a set of 18x9.5 or 18x10 all the way around and run 285/30/18's. Also, the 17x8.5 are convex, not concave, and look very weird. I didn't know this until they arrived at my house. I'd try and run 17x9 up front. Shouldn't be that much of a problem if you're still using a 255.

i have a pic of your car with the RPF1s somewhere on my computer. ill have to look into it more. we'll see. the price on both 17s and 18s are great either way, so it wont be too much in a price difference and weight difference. plus more rubber is pretty appealing too. we'll see how my saving goes over the winter.

thanks for the info, pete.

I'm afraid of driving all the way out there and failing inspection. Is there anything I should look out for?

They just check a few basic things.

Wheel bearings tight
No chord showing on your tires
Battery firmly mounted and cables connected
Helmet up to spec (every club is different on requirements)
No leaks
Throttle will snap closed
Brake fluid reservoir full

Thats about it. I think Rick will chime in if I missed anything.

Rick if I get my FMIC all hooked up, this vacuum leak sorted out, and I tune it to 12psi, I'll be there.

If I don't make this one I'll try to make the next one.

This is the reason I bought the car and it's been a year and I still havn't autocrossed....

Found the leak. Fixed.
Tuned to 10psi. Check
FMIC is mounted but not connected to the IM yet. In process.
After that, tune to 12psi will be done a few hours after.

I'm probably a go for the second one. School starts up and I'm going to have more on my mind.

Rick, remind me about the one later on next month and I will try my hardest to show up. Thanks!

Where did the leak end up being? Im very curious as you didn't have lots of sources of vacuum.
