Maryland Mechanics and Meets
Whats up MD, I am fairly new to the Columbia area (thanks to the military) and I am trying to get in the groove of things up here in the rotary world. I am coming from VA beach, where it is a really tight community and hoping to pick up where I left off.
I am looking for mechanics that can work on my RX7 around here, cause we all know not to trust mechanics that havent worked on any rotary cars before.
Also, are there scheduled meets around here or an organized club just for rotary cars?
Thanks!!!
Brian

Mechanic i had my car finished at actually builds and races rx-7's (they have an FB racer sitting in front of the shop lat i checked with a couple FC's behind the shop) so they have rx-7 experience. they do good work, but main problem I had was they hid running price and did expensive work before checking with me so i had an insanely high bill at the end. they're in columbia too. there are other performance shops that are relatively close to columbia too.

The mechanic i Went to is called Columbia Auto collision or something like that. i found them when i had to have the windshield in my wifes car replaced, which they did the day i called them and had it back by that night.
they are on snowden river pkwy behind the merchants auto center and next to that huge storage facility. you get there from owings mills road. They would remember me as the supra guy.

sounds fine and dandy - bu i read this that kinda broke my heart:
Historic:
* To qualify as a historic vehicle, your vehicle must not have been substantially altered, remodeled, or remanufactured from its original construction, and must be 20 model years or older.
* A historic vehicle 60 years or older may obtain a one-time, permanent, non-transferable registration. This vehicle registration does not qualify for specialty plates.
* Vehicles classified as historic certifies the vehicle will be maintained for use in exhibitions, club activities, parades, tours, occasional transportation and similar uses. The vehicle owner further certifies the vehicle will not be used for general daily transportation or primarily for the transportation of passenngers or property on highways.
please tell me i can use it as my daily driver?!?!?

Sounds like going back and forth to work to me. Just because I only occasionally work doesn't mean it won't work for everyone. You'll be fine, multiple members of this board, and hundreds of people in Maryland, have done this. Just don't start sweating if you get pulled over and you'll be fine

my car is loud itself. has a divorced wategate downpipe venting open in addition to it being a full 3" exhaust. i usually get most cops asking me for a peak under the hood instead of complaining about noise levels.
