Find out how to get that inedible cheap to free sugar from South America and how I can power it for free and I'm down. Aside from that, I'm not picking up bags of sugar for a few bucks a pound, as it takes 15lbs of sugar to make a gallon of Ethanol... As far as stale beer is concerned, I drink my beer before that happens.
I'm all for BioDiesel so long as there are decent daily drivable cars out there that run on diesel. Sadly, there are none in America.
I'd kill for a Toyota Hilux Surf Diesel (4Runner). Or even a 4Door Honda Civic Diesel... And I'm not paying four grand to ship a questionable engine from some wreck in Japan to here unless I can see it running... The two week, fifteen mile warranty that the eBay vendors offer doesn't quite do it for me. The limited availability of parts alone makes it kinda scary. I don't wanna get overnight parts from Japan every time I need to do maintenance on it.
My current diesel vehicle is NOT daily drivable. I've parallel parked it; It is not fun.
32 ft long, 11 MPG, and ten thousand pound curb weight FTL.
Simmer down...
It's only for the really big stuff like Suburbans, Hummers, Excursions and the like... (Over 6000 GVWR) for "Business" use...

LOTS of soccer moms opted for the Suburban instead of the Tahoe because of how easy it is to get the tax write-off. I got it for my truck, 5 years worth of depreciation because of my race team. Helps out a lot, and it's valid, because I needed to truck to haul the car and trailer.

I'm not really back yet, just stoppin by to say whats up.
The silver FD has been gone for almost 2 years. Still have the FC but it hasn't run since I got the engine for my FD because I lost interest in properly installing the engine in it and now I'm selling it off for $250.
Looking to buy a house in July then sell my Mazda6 and buy a pickup after that. Then either another FD or the Evo X (I'd prefer the FD but I kinda want to experiment with AWD). So I might be back for good by this winter.
In the mean time I've mainly been on my bike or occasionally doing rain runs in the Mazda6. (Alot more of that these past few days LOL)
Crash Test Joey: You still ride bikes? Riding the same roads in south MD is getting a little boring.

boo, Evo X = lame, I drove my friends GTS and didn't like it at all, they're way too big. If you want AWD I would get a new STi or an EVO IX

Can't decide what to get next. I really like the new Busa, but some of the 1000's are phenomenal. I also like the M109 a lot, it's got some serious power and is actually comfortable to boot. Decisions, decisions...

There are plenty of alternative AWDs out there but in the bang for buck plus visual asthetics competition, the Evo wins it hands down. I wanted very badly to stick with Mazda and get the Mazdaspeed6 but its a crappy car all the way around.

I hope to be in the market soon, but my last was a Hayabusa and I sold it since a)I had to have back surgery, which is likely the first of more to come and b)I'm getting divorced so everything with both of our names on it had to go.

I've seen alot of nice customized Yamaha Warriors down in south Florida so I've been kind of leaning towards that as a daily rider.

Congrats to you and the wife unit!!!
I'm no tax attorney, but I was given the option of writing off 100% of the purchase price of my truck the year I bought it, or writing off 20% per year over 5 years. I'm not understanding what taxes you'd have to pay - want to elaborate? Are you talking about tax based on money earned 'with' the vehicle?

If the vehicle is used for business use, it must have the full tax paid on it.
If the vehicle is personal, it qualifies for a discount.
If the vehicle is personal AND is worth $2000 or less, then you don't pay ****.
