I have the stock stereo in my car with 1 speaker 
(I have no idea where the other speakers went 
) and the stock head doesn't even work... I have most of my $3k system that used to be in my bmw that I'll put in there eventually though.

Now the dvd-r thing is a beast... i would pay a good 400 bucks for one of them.. never ever ever... take out the dvd... right now i got about 11+ hours of music cuz of the 10 disc cd changer...
and that driving music... get me some of that Need for speed music mixed in with some initial D.. and a lil ragga

true indeed. a lot of makers are putting a line-in right up front. some of the higher end models give you 2 - 1 in the back, so you can make it all integrated and 1 up front for those quick "listen to this" type of moments.

Check out some mixes by a guy named Andy C. I have to warn you though,
some songs pound out frequencies beyond what humans can hear.
Like when he spins on the AVALON system, people feel bass lines that
that they don't hear but that are in sync the music.
