NY Looking for an engine bay detailer...- NY

Hi, I would like to finally clean down my engine bay and I know there are places that wash them down, but I want someone who uses steam as opposed to a pressure washer. So does anyone in the NYC area know of anyone? Thanks!

P.S. Do self-service car washes exist in NY? lol I've never seen one

dont be afraid of pressure wash, I had a detail shop years ago, we did alot of auction cars, and I probably washed over 1000 engines with pressure wash.

I have never seen a self service car wash in NY. That annoys me a lot. I much rather do the cleaning myself then rely on some grimy people doing a quick ghetto job on my cars.

If i had the money i would open a self serve cleaning shop

If you pressure wash the bay then just stay away from the air filter and alternator.

Great thanks, I'll take a shot.

Felix- Let me know if you ever open up that shop

And will do to stay away from air filter, alternator and anything electrical for that matter

Haha trust me the idea of opening a D.I.Y cleaning area thats cheap just sounds better and better. If i actually had a high paying job then i would attempt it.

Also its ok for the electricals to get wet (just not really the alternator & filter)

I power wash 18 wheeler engine bays alllll the time at my job. **** gets wet as a ****. These trucks have been at are job for so long (a lot over 500k) and have been washed a billion times. NEVER had electrical issues from power washing.

Texas Car Wash
15 Texas Ave
Island Park, NY 11558-1113

They have a portion where the guys screw with your car and a portion where you do all the work. They have a 24 hours 4 bay self service center. Bring a bucket with you so that you don't rely too heavily on the token/timer. Dump some tokens into the machine and you select what you want the wand/brush to blow out.

Oh no! I was asking for a self-service car wash just for that, a car wash. I know I can wash my car a lot better than car washers themselves. Washing the engine, there's a few places around my way that do that. I was asking for the steam cleaning because I didn't want the water from a pressure washer splattering all over the place and getting water into places that it shouldn't be in. But thanks for the tip.

There are a few self car washes in Nassau County Long Island. There is one spot in Island Park right on Long Beach rd. and there another at a Gulf station on New Hyde Park rd like a mile south of the LIE, get off at exit 34.
