Look What I Just Bought!!!
Fourty...is your Avatar a picture of your car? If so, is that the Pettit front bumper? I was seriously thinking about going with that front bumper because the smoked out signal lights would look really nice on the white car along with the fenders and some serious rubber. How was the fitment? How is the over all look...as in is the fiberglass wavy like some cheap kits?
Also, I want to ask a question to all of you long timers on the board. I am approaching quickly the day I will need an engine management computer. I am planning on making the car into a 400rwhp monster but will spend the money to do it slowly and the MOST RELIABLE way possible. That said....what is your opinions on management systems ie. Power FC's and Haltechs. Pro's and Con's of each please...if you don't mind.
Thanks guys, all your help is getting me excited!

Correct, the car in the avatar is mine. The front end is an original Mazdaspeed GTC piece, which has been copied too no end, even by Pettit.
If your goal is 400rwhp, I would stick with the Power FC. I've made power past that mark for the past 4 years with a GT3540 single and a stock port motor.

Wow, Congratulations!!!
Awsome find!... Almost stock 95, 11,000 miles, 1 of 50 imported for $22,000? Worth every penny....
Don't be so quick to mod her out. Enjoy the reliabilty of being close to stock.
Remember what attracted you to her and possesed you to spend that kind of money.
These cars are pretty rare and valuable in almost stock and stock condition. keep it that way..
Welcome to the addiction.

haha. i slept in my first car the first night i got it (98 Integra GS-R. i past out in a driveway once (i didnt drive drunk, there wasnt anywhere to sleep inside) in the rx-7, but thats a whole other story
i cant wait to see the car in person! i have a power fc and i love it. granted im on my second one (thanks to the northeast monsoon season and deep puddles) but its great as long as you get a good tuner such as dave at KDR or Steve Kan to dial it in for you. if you get a power fc, you wont need a boost controller, unless you want to run more then 15psi, so it will be fine while youre still twin. be careful with putting parts in it, once the bug hits you, you cant stop. part of me wants to tell you to keep it as close to factory as possible. the main thing is that you enjoi it and have fun with it. do what makes you happy. welcome to the club, dont forget the search function, and we're all here for ya with any questions you have.
when i first bought my car, this site helped me out a lot.

like everyone said, do a tune up and some reliability mods. AST, downpipe, sparkplugs and wires, vacuum lines, change all the fluids, boost guage is a great idea, and a radiator. remember the rule of 3: if you change 3 parts that will effect your air or fuel movement (exhaust, intake, down pipe, mid pipe, injectors, intercooler, etc.) you will need a computer and some tuning. i dont mean to come off like im spoon feeding you information, and im sure you know these things already, but id rather you def. know then something awful happen to such a beatiful car.
good luck with her and most importantly enjoi it.
