Wow,

How did you guys find my favorite road? I have been involved with a ski club that is off Hurricane Mountain Rd and have loved this road for years. Been driving rx7s over this road since the late 70s. Best way to drive this road is N. Conway side to Fryeburg ME side. Always thought it would make for a great closed course hillclimb race, but never could get the permission needed to make it happen.

Can't make it, but have fun guys. Sounds like a great loop. If folks are looking for another route worth driving up there, Bear Notch Rd from Bartlett to Kanc is a nice route too.

This drive is coming from the Maine side to the New Hampshire side of Hurricane Mt Rd. I like the drive going the other way. Very easy to get air in your car going that way.

Rick, don't let this get too big. It can get out of hand and everyone will just create traffic for each other.

i think we got lucky mike. I had a lot of help from a RX-8 member from the area who came up with a great map for both days. this won't be the last Kanc cruise so you'll have to try to make it out to one.

i threw my CF hood on and started detailing the car today for this. Im planning on shooting home after class friday giving her a bath then shooting up to NH. i hope the weather holds out. I cant wait. hope to see you all there.

thats awesome. hopefully we can get some more people from craigslist.

Ian has gotten us a discount from 10% to 15% for the hotel room/condo.

If you need to reserve a room we need to know by tomorrow at the latest.

It's looking like a weekend of rain, and I am considering gauging interest in changing this for another weekend in the summer. You can laugh at me, but i dont drive my RX-7 in the rain. We could also get more people interested if we reschedule it, as there are other events going on this weekend.

We can still do it if the majority doesnt mind the rain (i'd have to bring the daily driver Subaru.) I'm up for it either way.

We would have to make a decision quickly, as Ian has been working hard in securing a condo for everyone plus we'd need to give Synaptic3 the heads up.

What do you guys say? Go for it or reschedule? Wait it out and see how the weather looks towards the end of the week?

Id hate to let people down by rescheduling it, but i would also hate to have everyone get up there to not have at least somewhat decent weather.

We can route the cruise to my local car forum's Kankamangus Cruise,
http://www.nemotorsport.com/boards/s...ead.php?t=5010
on May 17th.

There is going to be a huge turnout this year, so if you guys came and represented the lacking rotary turn out, it would be killer.

im not going to be able to make it up for that cruise, but it looks like it could be pretty good.

This weekend's meet isn't called off. the weather is unpredictable and we'll have to wait and see. unfortunately, i am going to have to make a decision for myself by wednesday in order to give myself enough time to cancel the condo and rearrange my weekend.

i am not jumping to conclusion, but trying to plan in advance.

if we have to, what would be a good day to reschedule? i have to talk to Synaptic3, but maybe we could do one weekend with the cruise and another weekend with the BBQ, or we can set it up as a 2 day event again.

Here's what's good for me:

May:
Saturday the 9th and/or Sunday the 10th (which is the weekend of Hot Import Nights)
Sunday the 24th

June:
Saturday the 6th and/or Sunday the 7th
Saturday the 20th and/or Sunday the 21st

NOTICE

I spoke with Dana at Synaptic3 earlier today and we are going to postpone the cruise and the BBQ meet. As of right now, we are planning on having it on a weekend in July. I will post up the information once we settle on a date.

I will post up a new thread and have it stickied once we settle on the final plans.

The plan is staying the same with the times, meeting places, and route as of right now. The only thing we are planning on changine is the date.

i apologize for the inconvenience and hope to see you all at the event in July.

Works for me. Will certainly be better to run it on a nice sunny weekend, and maybe now I can make both days!

Aaaaachhhh!!!! it never fails. you trust the weather channel and it turns out to be a great day out.

i am truly sorry i canceled. it was a 3 hour trip to get there and a $250+ weekend, so i wanted to guarantee the weather didnt ruin it for us. We will have a date and make the second attempt better then the first as Synaptic3 is going to be working with us more for promotion of the event.

we'll see you in July. ill post up a nvew thread when we have the new details.

can everyone please post up what weekends would work for them in July. thanks.

I'm shooting to have the 7 on the road, but no promises, I still need to get brake lines and e-brake cables.
