Arrow Im restoring my cars Rx7'ness

Well guys not too long ago i bought a 91 coupe that had several questionable appearance mods. Around 3 weeks after I bought it I got into an accident and I am currently working on getting it repaired.

I am posting this up because Im bored at work but Ill provide pictures later.
When I got the car it had:

bomex front bumper
lambo door kit
black mud guards on all 4 wells
strobe lights in the headlights and under the car
neon lights under the seats
led's in the dashboard and A-pillars
tweaters cut into the door panels and the walls behind each seat
5" monster tach on the dash
EL reverse glow blue/green turbo gauge overlay (boost gauge face over voltmeter)
tii hood spraypainted black
the rest of the car is Mercedes Benz brilliant silver

I loved the color and the lambo doors and the bumper grew on me but the rest needed to be fixed.
I ripped out the neo tubes and all visible led's as soon as I got the car home. I didnt find the strobes till after the accident.

So heres the plan and the progress. Im gonna be restoring 90% of the car back to stock. I already removed the tach and lightly sanded down the protruding holes. I was just gonna swap the gauge cluster but i wanna keep the original mileage so im gonna try to remove the indiglo faces and all the wiring.
Scary part about the indiglo stuff is that if you touch the sides of back of the **** you get an electric shock(hackjob).

I love the look of the lambo doors but theyre a bitch to deal with. First of all the doors are heavy and no female passenger can open them without a struggle. Second of all NOONE can close them properly but me. They have to be lined up manually then pushed in hard to assure they lock. Most people end up just slamming it into the door frame atleast 3 times before they get it to close.
I was told there is a way to adjust the downward play but i dont feel like dealing. Also since they accident the assembly misadjusted itself and the passenger door cant close. So I will be removing the lambo hinges and reinstalling the stock ones. Ill miss the look and peoples reactions but ill be fine. I think they look better on verts anyway.

So in short ill be:
replacing the lambo hinges with stock
replacing the indiglo gauges with stock
replacing the torn up door panels(from rubbing the doorframe) with good replacements
Removing alot of wiring left behind by neon, led's, strobes, gauges and an old alarm
im also gonna try to find a clean way to fill the holes drilled all around, if not ill just make them smooth, theyre barely noticably anyway.

When Im done ill have a pretty clean, fc. Ill post progress pics as I go along if anyone cares to see.

I have no idea why you posted this here but I will still do my best to help you out. Yes it can handle it and more if the cars not being dragged. Driveline problems only really occur when the car is being launched hard with good traction. so no hard launching and no track/slicks and youll be fine.

Today i met up with tommy in Canarsie Brooklyn to get that Cosmo RE motor out his other RX-7. This motor will go into the GTU i am selling him. As soon as we can get this one out we gonna put the cosmo in the gtu and get her ready.

So we began trying to take off the driveshaft so we can drop the tranny then hit the motor.

Theres a stupid bolt on the driveshaft where it connects to the diff that does not belong there.

We tried it with an impact gun and it still would not budge.

So tommy drained the oil pan

Then we began jsut ripping the car up lol.

Transmission is about to fall out lol

This is the engine we will be taking out shortly

Back to the TOPIC.

Tommys 91 na will be up shortly. Hopefully in time for rotorfest.

STOP SIGNS DONT WORK

Good pics, Thanks again for the help jason. Ive decided in just gonna dremel those gay bolts off and cut apart the front frame of the car so I can take the engine/tranny out without a lift just a few dudes to inch it forward onto a dolly. Im gonnatake more pics and update wensday when i start converting the doors back to stock.
