I had no idea Summit Point was that close. It was so great to see almost no rice. All the Integra's were serious machines. Every civic I saw had a front mount or/and was completely gutted. I got so many great pics. I thought the highlight would be the drifting. The highlight for me was seeing the 7 literally own every single car it went against. It was also the driver. That man can move a FD.

I would've liked to see a 7 in the line-up of drift cars. Like every other drift event. There were way to many 240's.

Yes, Fritz was turning good times on the track. Not quite "destroying" everything, but quick none the less.

Now destroying everything was the tube chassis Camaro - he was running consistant 1:18's all day Saturday - too bad he got caught up in the 'big one' in Turn One. He put a new body on the car and made it out for qualifying Sunday but missed practice and the race.

btw, I saw all you guys on track and driving 7's around, but I was working NASA Timing & Scoring both days so I didn't get to come out and play much.

Yea, one of the FFR's passed an AI mustang on the outside and cut in....too close. They both spun, blocking the track sideways. The Camaro came around the turn at the crazy speeds it was running and pegged the Mustang. With its wedged shaped nose, it picked up the rear of the Mustang and went right under it. Somehow in the shuffle, the yellow first gen RX-7 got tagged by someone avoiding the mess and got its rear suspension tore up pretty bad.

I was really suprised by the number of wrecks this weekend...racing and HPDE.

Were there many wrecks in HPDE? I was in group 2 rocking the rental Grand Am, but aside from a few off-roading adventures (including me in turn 3) our group was pretty clean.

HAHAHA. I was wondering who the hell was out there rocking a Grand Am.

Yea, a Mustang backed into a wall lightly and couldnt restart on Sunday. HPDE 2 or 3, I can't remember. The same lap, a sliver E46 330ci ate a wall somewhere on the other side of the track, (T4 or 5-6 maybe), trashed the whole passenger side.

Sad/funny story about that E46, I told my roommate about it. He's a computer programmer for a company here in Richmond. He was at work the next day and his boss was talking about how he was racing this past weekeend, and fucked up his new BMW. My roomie walked out and look at it and laughed - same car. Small world.

Did that silver BMW have an airfoil wing on the back and SSR competition wheels?

I think he was running the FATT w/ me the day before. The guy LOOKED like a computer programmer with alot of money.

Yeah fricking customs has been sitting on my new microtech for weeks, so the FC couldn't come. Why Avis offers a NASA member discount I have no idea but I'm not complaining.

The Grand Am was a hoot to drive, though I had to conserve my brakes becase they would fade hardcore after two laps at full speed.

I didn't see the silver BMW, but I was in the stands down at the carousel and saw a black one (DE 1 I think it was) get all crazy in turn 9 and put his passenger side into the outside tire wall. He and his instructor looked pretty shaken up but not injured.

There was also the miata that got completely over the tire wall, dukes of hazzard style.

A friend bashed up his H4 car pretty bad in qualifying in turn 10. He was ok but the car was in bad shape.
