Thumbs up High-Speed Track Event Returns To Mid-Atlantic Area

Mazda Drivers, LLC returns to the Mid-Atlantic area this coming Labor Day weekend, when the high-speed drivers education organization hosts its first event at the Summit Point Motorsports Park in several years.

Prior to the reincarnation of the Virginia International Raceway circuit in Danville, Virginia, the organizers of Mazda Driving Associates would host events on the main 2.0-mile 10-turn course at Summit Point Raceway. This year, Mazda Drivers will hold its third event of the year on the challenging new Shenandoah Circuit at Summit Point.

Be one of the fortunate few who gets to run where the One Lap of America team "Nuke 'Em From High Orbit" enjoyed tremendous success on its way to the SSGT2 Championship. One Lap winners Chris Regan and Dave Henning are instructors for the Mazda Drivers team. Even if you don't participate, come by and check out the action, as there will be lots of powerful rotary machinery at the event.

I'll be there, but I'll be running a SCCA event on the other track. I'll try to stop over to see what is going on.

Thumbs up High-Speed Track Event @ Shenandoah Circuit....

......is less than 1.5 hours away........If your definition of performance driving includes the concepts of turning and braking, this is the ticket!!!

Mazda Drivers events usually have in attendance 50-60 rotary-powered vehicles, a dozen or so other Mazdas, a good number of Corvettes (as their local club has latched onto our events), a good number of 350Zs, and an assortment of Porsches, Mitsu Evos, Subie WRXs/STis, and an occasional Ferrari and/or Maserati, as one of the Grand Am Series RX8 racers owns the new Maserati Quattroporte.

If you've got the funds, I will go so far as to suggest that you will have a tremendous amount of fun rippin' it up for 20 minutes at a time at least four times per day, all without fear of acquiring speeding tickets. What you would learn in two days could be applied to everyday driving for the rest of your life!

If you don't have the funds, take the time to drop by anyway and take a look at the machinery that will be on hand for the event. There is also a chance that we could get you to ride around the track a few times with one of our well-qualified instructors. We typically also have parade laps on Sundays, where guests can drive around the course behind a pace car at highway speeds.
