i recently called liberty mazda in wakefeild ma and asked about my seat belt recall and they said that all the recall work was already done on the car. does anyone know what the actual problem with the seatbelts was, and what they did to fix it.

also when my seatbelts get pulled really hard they dont grab like a normal seatbelt. will this cause me to fail a mass inspection. (i think it will but i dont want it too)

 

i would also post this in the FC thread. You might be able to get better input on the recall work.

As for Massachusetts inspections: I have not had my seatbelts checked ever during an inspection, and haven't had my stock belts in my car for years and they never seem to notice; so you should be all set.

On a side note: I have lying around somewhere a pair of factory FD red seat belts in my garage if you need a new set. Let me know if you would be interested and I'll find them, get some pictures, and come up with a price. I am not sure if they will mount right up, but I dont see why with some tweaks why they wouldn't fit.
