Hey, I've got a S5 NA engine only 63k miles on it but the rear rotor has no compression, has all the components on it, PS, AC, alternator, transmission, etc. If I were to sell it locally, how much should I ask for it? Or is it worth the effort to part it out and possibly make more money that way? I'll try to make it to the meet, just depends on what the wife want me to do......

Sorry to hear about Dee Dee's hassles though. Se is very enthusiastic about the car and seems to really like it. I think owning it has made her more of a driving enthusiast than she thought she would be.

BTW, I might be away from work for a day this weekend. I am going to try to head up to the Vintage races at VIR. Anyone else going there to watch any this weekend? A friend of mine has recently put his old IMSA race car back into working order and will be racing it again this weekend for the first time in 25 years (for either him or ther car). The car is a totally awesome monster of this really wild looking Dodge Challenger with a 508CI Hemi. The car has a single 4V carb and produces >800 HP. He is being joined by Phil Currin (famed Corvette racer from that time) for the enduro race. It ought to be an awesome thing to watch. Other friends are there with Shelby GT350's for the weekend, so it should be catch up time with lots of old friends.

Put the RB clutch in today. Man is that thing grabby, but it's nice to have something that will hold the power. Now I'm waiting on the intake gasket then I can install the Sterling Carb and the ported intake. Whoohoo.

I went to VIR last weekend to the Vintage races. It was a pretty good weekend. There were two rotary cars of significance. One was a rotary powered Tiga IMSA Prototype. It was slower than some of the others, but it was still very cool. The other was a first gen RX7 with the old IMSA style fender flares, hood scoop, etc. I think that car was up from Alabama. I have seen picture of it before. I took videos but didn't really get any digital pictures. I will see if I can d/l someting somewhere.

I noticed that too Renagade.

Anyways, update on my 7:

Mods done in the past month:

All 5 brake lines are now stainless steel braided.
Motul 500 brake fluid.
New brake master cylinder.
New clutch master and slave cylinders.
RB Street/Strip Clutch disk and Pressure Plate installed.
Sterling Carb is now on.
Stock 12a intake is now ported and installed.
New Carter fuel pump is installed.

To Do in the next 2 weeks:

Install RB springs and Koni Red front struts. (Already have Tokico Blues on the back)
Mount and balance Toyo Proxes RA-1's. 205/60R13

I've been busy at the 7. Anyone else done any major projects besides Renagade's engine swap?

It's been awhile since I've been on here, mostly because of work and other nonsense. But I HAVE been hard at work on my seven. Bryan, you might be interested in this.... I got the timing straight, or so I believe on my turbo 12a setup. Bought a brand new carb, an OER 45mm DCOE-type carb, to replace my busted up Weber 45 dcoe. Car runs soooo much better, starts right up, runs halfway decent, though I have to say I'm having some issues getting it to idle low enough, and with this new carb, it runs really rough when I retard the timing for boost. All in good time though. I finished up my exhaust. I'm not too hot at welding, or fabricating for that matter, but I got it done,a nd it actually sounds great, and quiet too! I'll try to get some pictures up whenever I get a chance, maybe some video.

No major projects on mine. I have springs and Blues on the car, but have RB sway bars waiting to go on and cool exhaust system jigged up on the floor.

Sounds like you'll be boostin soon enough man. Gimmie a call sometime if you want an extra pair of hands. I'm havin some trouble with my new carb. Mainly it seems like it's running out of fuel, but it may be a timing issue since I just changed to the 2nd gen coil direct fire with the transistor trick. I gotta check the timing but I'm so damn busy the next 3 days.

I'll give you a call sometime early next week, I'm actually moving next thursday to richmond, kinda sucks, I was trying to make a hard push to have it road worthy before I moved, now I guess I'll just be able to work on it on the weekens I'm down here. Having a few electrical problems, and there's loose ends that need to be tied up. But hey,, it starts up when I want it to, and that's better than it has been in a long time

Same thing I told Dale. Check the fuel filter first. First gen's seem to do a great job of clogging them up.

I did the intake myself. Looks nice. The pump is a P4389. It says marine, but I've had no problems with it. I just ordered a new 1-4 psi regulator from summit. I don't like the 4-12 I have now. Too much pressure. Plus I got the pump off eBay for $55. I can't complain. It is brand spanking new. I'll try changing the fuel filter when I have some spare time. I'm also going to go back to the stock ignition system and see if anything changes. So far, I'm quite impressed by the carb/intake. It seems to pull harder than the RB Holley setup.

Also, the carter comes with rubber mounts. It's a TON quieter than that POS Holley Blue I had on there.
