Hampton Roads (SE Virginia) Rotary Club
Hey guys,
Sorry about the lack of attendance with the meets and whatnot. I've had a busy work/school schedule this semester. Hopefully things will let up in a couple of weeks.
Still no progress on the car. I did manage to sell the exhaust though, which is a nice way to earn some bucks. I think I'm gonna hold off on buying more parts now and just install what I have then see what happens money-wise.
Anyways, I'll check back when I can.

Autocross yesterday at ACU-4 was pretty good. There were 3 first gens there, Jimdog, Carl Stone, and mine. We all ran in CSP, but Shawn Lambert and Ed Raymundo spanked us pretty good in the Miata that a few of you may have seen win the time attack its first time out at the Extreme Sports Wednesday at Langley Speedway a month or so ago. Results are here:

we were all in CSP.
Thanks to everyone for comming to the meet at AIK Saturday night. The turnout of people was pretty good. It was a hot night racing the karts, literally. I was extremely sweatty after finishing like I had never been there before. Hot and humid was the ticket for the night.
We had some new faces there and some cars we had not seen before. Unfortunately we all parked in amoungst the other cars rather than out were we could get good pictures. I have a couple of camera-phone shots that I will post when I get a chance.
Pretty good weekend for RX7 stuff.

hey i was wondering if anyone else was intersted in getting their car tuned in the month of August by BDC Brian Cain in Raleigh (6 hour drive), NC or Steve Kan in Wilmington, DE (4 hour drive)
i know steve kan can tune mostly all EMS like power fc haltech, microtech, etc.
brian can tune haltech but not sure about the rest
it would be nice if we could have a group drive somewhere with all the 7's

yoshi take pics of it .
Well asthetically, the bolts/screws won't look too bad and they'll only be visible when the headlights are up. Here's a few pics of the assembly:
from the top

This side is in direct contact with the cover. I circled where I'd put 2 bolts/screws

This side has a gap between the cover and the assembly so I'd need a long screw/bolt

This is the cover:

I'd prefer to use bolts vs screws because I think bolts would hold better. However I don't know if I'll be able to put everything back together if I use bolts and have to reinsert the guts with the cover on.
