im not sure how to check lol im not going to mess with the floats i noticed when i put the new fuel filter it pumped fuel constantly when the key was in the on position when the key was off the fuel would stop pumping would the new fuel filter work too good? cause its the correct replacement for her car. its like the car gets more fuel due to new parts i pulled out her plugs and they look to be the original ones from the factory 'scary lol' DENSO clear as day .but i can tell that i need to do a tune up which isnt a bad idea anyways .due to the cars age.anyone know a good way to clean out rust in the fuel tank?? cause i think there might be some rust in there.....but its making progress with project ""tune up"" id say hers be in good working order by the middle of december .

i just ordered the block off plates and waiting for them to arrive and wanting to do something to my car......havent gotten to it latly.....and i need to hit up a gas station and fill my gas can. so i can try to prestart and test my car ect ect.....the blowoff sounded soooooooooooooooooooooo good lol.even if it was for a second!

 

I have used long handle scrub brushes with all kinds of chemicals I've had on hand. I have used degreaser, carb cleaner, oven cleaner and the clean the skinny tubes to the gas tank, I took a speedometer cable, but it on one end and made my own "snake". I gues I should patent the idea....

Monty, it could be that her needles haven't seated yet. I've seen that before. It sometimes takes awhile for the needle valves to seat.

 

how long would they take to seat?cause i hate flooding the carb every time i try to start the car for doing the other things to the car for the tune ups and such...

btw where can i get another gas cap for her car? or is there a replacement plastic cap instead of a metal one..?

 

I think I have a spare gas cap that would fit her car. Otherwise, you can get them at a typical auto parts store.

They don't usually take any time to seat... if they leak it usually means something else is wrong, like a small piece of grit stuck in them, or the floats set wrong or something...

BTW, Reneage, i am not going to get by tonite. I just got home from over your way. I think Dale bought the NA S5. Decent car. Now both of us have white second gen NA's that are not running.

Fentress Airfield in in Chesapeake, VA. I can give you directions. It is only two turns off of I-64. Plenty of time to get ready if you are interested. I will probably be at all of these. Fentress is an event that is about equal speed to what we did at the Zoom Zoom live event. It is usually a great place to start autocrossing. Guarantee you will have a good time.

Hey Guys, yeah it's true I've decided to clean house. Well let me start by saying that the RX4 has been sold (locally) to a piston head that is not going to Phooka-it-up

Speaking of phooking things up, I'm a fraid I left my BAE 12A turbo and exhaust manifold up in the now sealed crawl space above the garage at my old house that I sold in July 04'

...but don't dispair I should have a Cartech drawthru kit somewhere up in here. I'll shoot some pics soon and post for all to see some day.
