I'm up in Cranberry. I just got my '93 R1 back on the road after sitting in the garage for 3 years. I was kind of shocked that it started up with two turns of the key after putting in a new battery.

I just got it back from replacing all the fluids at Billco. The fact that I had to tell them what was in a 60K service ("too old for our computers") and they had to order plugs and fuel filter for a second visit tells me they aren't going to be a go-to for work beyond standard maintenance. In fact, having done that pesky FF myself last time, it will be interesting to see how they do.

I had KD Rotary do a bunch of work many years ago, and I thin I read that they are now Speed1, still near Allentown. I don't think I ever found anyone closer. There was rumored to be "a guy" in Pittsburgh somewhere, but I never found him and that was years ago.

I don't think I've ever seen any FDs running around this area. I live in Cranberry as well. Hopefully I'll see it eventually.

I'm in Washington. There's a guy who used to own/work at Sevenspeed. He works out of a little shop up the road from me. There's 3 or 4 FCs sitting out front all the time. Heard he does great work. PM me and I'll get you some info if you'd like.

If you don't know, Washington is 25-30 mins south of Pittsburgh down 79.

The owner's name is Mike Healy. Here is the link to his website:

He should be fine working on a '91. I wouldn't bring him anything with a carburator. He has mixed reviews on the speed with which he completes work.

You might want to hook up with the West Penn Mazda Club (Formerly the West Penn RX-7 Club). They are having a meeting Saturday, Oct. 8 at the North Park Lounge Clubhouse on Rt.8 at 3:30.

They're aren't too many in our area. I've seen one or two running at Beaver Run, and one random silver one in downtown Pittsburgh once.

West Penn Mazda Club's scenic drive to Ohiopyle will be Saturday the 22nd. We will meet at the Sheetz at Rt 8 & Hardies Road at 11:00, then pick up members on the turnpike in Monroeville and Irwin, where exit and head for the scenery. Those meeting in Monroeville will stage at the Lowe's parking lot and hit the turnpike when the Sheetz group calls in.

Post here and let me know if anyone wants me to add their name to the list.

Who else is coming? Please sign up below and let us know where and
when you'll meet up with us along the way.
Just another note... those meeting along the turnpike, please expect
to hook up with others ON the pike. We won't be exiting and then
re-entering. If there is a pull-off area or rest area, please phone
the others ahead so they know where to meet you. Please include your
mobile number below.
Thanks,
Dale

Oh damnit, I wish I would've seen this post sooner. I actually used to work in that area in Richland around Sheetz. Keep me posted on the next one.

How was it by the way? Anyone have any pics?
