Event: Dent Sport University - Road Racing Motorsports 102 - Tuning & Preparation

This is the second class in our series of motorsports learning program.

DSG is trying out a new program as a means to build the New England motorsport scene. We call it Dent Sport University, but its really just a set of classes to teach people about how to get out on the race track and get competitive with a no-bull**** atmosphere. We’re not selling anything, its free and fun, so join us.

RRM102 - Road Race Motorsports 102 - Tuning & Preparation

This class will review some of the content from RRM101 for those who did not attend. We will quickly cover the types events offered in the New England area, organizations involved, race-day expectations. We will get into more detail into suspension tuning, engine management, building power, safety, braking and aerodynamics. We will use one of the DSG shop race cars to show some of the details. There will be a question and answer as well as a meet & greet at the end.

There are no prerequisites. This class will be most helpful to students who have never done a track event and are interested or thinking of doing one in the near future, and students looking for tips on building their track cars.

First class is scheduled:
Saturday, January 31st, 2009 11am - 2pm

We have limited space, so sign up sooner rather than later.

Its free.

maybe... looks like a great program. Anything to get people off the streets is outstanding. Keep up the good work.

I've been looking for an excuse to check out DSG. I've only heard good things about your work. Quick question: in the "Car Year, Make, Model, Trim" section, should I put the car I will be arriving in, or the car I plan to tune/race?

We've had an overwhelming response this time!

There are currently only 10 spots left available out of a total of 75!

Register now or forever hold your peace.

75% wasn't an option in the registration form, PAL.

We hosted the 2nd Dent Sport University class this past Saturday and were surprised by the large turnout.

There was a large number of Subaru, Nissan, Honda drivers all interested in competing in the upcoming season various motorsports events.

This class covered the various organizations offering track events, types of track events, what to expect on the track day and costs. We also covered pre-event preparation, car preparation, car tuning and dynamics.

Afterwards we had a question & answer session followed by a meet & greet.

We’re starting to plan for the 3rd class. If you have any topics you’d like us to cover, ideas, interactive demos, etc. Please post a message to our site.

Here are a few resources from the guest-speakers we had at the event
