I dropped it in the car on Tuesday, bolted up almost everything. Everything went smooth. I have to install the radiator and run the coolant lines. Fill it up with oil. And that should be it. I might give it a go tomorrow!!! see if i missed anything.

I was waiting for a oil cooler but I cant wait to hear it! I dont even know if the battery is good plus I might need gas...you think anybody would mind if i drive up the street to get gas without the bumper?

 

you can always use a gas can... avoid uneccessary attention..

DENIED! well, as it turns out the heater core line below the oil pressure sending unit was ripped and I didnt notice during assebly so I leaked a great deal of coolant...cut and reattached, leak fixed!
Now connecting air temp sensor, the DAMNED connector is broken...one of the wires broke off. I gotta fix it and give it a go tomorrow.

 

It started today...Sounds WICKED!!!! brap,brap,brap...shake, shake, shake, its sick!!!!!!

For the first time since I've owned it, the stock oil pressure gauge is working!!!!!!

Now all I need is to keep it together for a few hundred miles and get it tuned!

 

Glad to hear you got it started, it sounded nice. Good luck with it and take the lead boot off, well at least until you get tuned.

I'm setting the limiter to 3800 for the 1st 100miles then to 4500 till 1k miles...hehe, I'll go visit you a few times. that should eat up the break in!!!! eh

SOB, got an oil leak! on a good note, I got the engine to idle. Its real f**ked up but at least it stays lit on its own!!!!!

NO VACCUM THOUGH, If it pulls 8 inches @ 1300 its too much, lol

 

After breakin the vacuum will go up, but not much. I pull about 12-14 inches with 915 miles on mine.

 

took a quick look underneath to see where the oil is coming from...gotta reseal the oil pan...plus, I tried to start it yesterday and I guess it was cold enough for the battery to be a little weak. Instead of starting, I flooded the hell out of it and I think I fouled the plugs. Today, good charged battery...cranks good but thats it.

 

ATF is your friend

Resealing the oil pan is a *bitch* to have to do right after dropping the motor in. Ihor and I use Right Stuff silicone (no gasket) with an oil pan reinforcement brace and moroso stud kit. Works like a charm

Well, you don't have to pull the motor. Just drop the front subframe.......

 

if I only had a lift and a compressor...I need better facilities(my garage sux!!)

 

You can drop the subframe with a lift or air tools......

 

the lift and air tools makes it a whole helluva lot easier than on your back on jack stands with ratchet! worse than that is TIME, thats really whats getting in my way right now. At least its my own car and I can take my sweet time with it!

 

I meant 'without' up above of course. well, Ihor and I work without a lift, but we do have a huge compressor .

Sucks about the oil pan, unless you do it 100% correct they all leak after time.

 

Manny you should try out the oil pan brace , it helped my leak problem .

 

which one do you have? I know theres a few out there...

 

The Gotham one works wonders, we use them on almost all customer builds.

 

I have the Garfinkle brace.

 

I think fitment is the important part, they all seem to work pretty well.

 

Well, I have the dual oil cooler project so oil is coming out anyways...got another driver's side w/ ss lines and fittings just need brackets. 2 for the price of 1? no miles oil change...at least got the 5q jug for $8
