Does anyone have a rotary compression tester, or any way to help?

My brother and I went recently met a local guy with a FD that is having trouble getting it to start. He deflooded it and got new spark plugs and my brother checked that the plugs are firing and it's getting fuel. So at this point we brought over a regular compression tester just cause it's better than nothing. My brother first checked it in the leading then the trailing since the FSM states to do so. He also checked with the throttle open and closed just cause the readings were low and were hoping we were doing something wrong. He called the local Mazda dealership and they don't have a tester.

Is there any chance someone is local enough that can help him out with a proper compression test? I would hate for him to go in a direction that just isn't necessary. He tried to even buy one but twistedrotor isn't selling them at the moment. I'm trying to find any way to help him. If there is any way you can help or have any helpful suggestions please let me know.

The weather is getting better and I know he wants to drive it or fix it, thanks.

That'd be awesome. Sat I'm getting together with a few FD owners, soooooooo you better call me! We're gonna probably head out and check out the local "lot". We should try to get some more rotaries out too.

I hope you can get your hands on a rotary compression tester cause he really wants to move forward and know he's going in the right direction.
