Awesome. Winter is a great time for break in and will keep you from wanting to get into the boost (at least somewhat )

Did they have you in a barracks with galley access or something? $15/day kinda sucks.. I figured it would be more in the $60+ range for Meals and Incidentals.

I want to say I got $50+ per day for TDY in Norfolk back when I was still in and traveling about for training (and cost of living in Norfolk is NOTHING compared to anywhere in CA ).

Nice!

I'm also going to get my car tuned in a few months... it'll be interesting to compare our setups.

No, they had me stay at the Gateway Inn. If I wanted to go to the galley, I had to pay like $7.50 for some shitty food.....and their galley wasn't like a regular galley, THE BAR WAS ATTACHED TO THE OTHER SIDE OF IT! So you walk in, pay up front, food to the left, go through the door on the right and BOOM bar. I just went to the commisary and spent like 40 bucks on lunch meat, bread and drinks.

I wish I had been making $50+ a day out there, it definitely would've helped haha. The air quality out there is god awful, I would run through a 12 pack of Gatorade in about 4 days (if I was being conservative,) valley fever (some weird fungal infection that has to be removed surgically,) the 35,000 acre wild fire, blistering heat (I'll take humidity any day,) and the airports (no, just no.) I could honestlynever go back and be perfectly fine with it. The whole TAD was screwed from day 1, but that's a whole different story haha.

Sorry for the long post lol

I'm the one in Dumfries but I wasn't driving last night. I came up Benita Fitzgerald at about 6 this morning and will be passing back through around 4:15 today.

Anyone interested in buying my RX8? 2006 Shinka edition, 78,900 miles. Overall good condition and runs well, almost all stock. Looking to sell because I really don't need it and want the cash to spend on my 7. If you or someone you know is interested, message me.

For full disclosure: There was a time when I was hesitant about the engine, turns out it was just the ignition, replaced it and all is well again (eage8 knows about this ).

Got the fender mirrors on, was a bit hard to forget there is nothing on the door as I kept looking at the stock spot and then forward....Probably will be this way for awhile until 4k is saved up for a paint.

Derek - you play baby ! - seriously, love the look of your fender mirrors. When you DO finally look to the correct location and see through the mirror(s), do you see the marker light of the car in your blind spot -or- an entire headlight ? Bill

Tuning doesn't start until I drop it off tomorrow in virginia beach, as well as some other things getting done like cutting and welding rear quarters. It's hard to describe with those mirrors but it is something new for sure. Really just wanted mainly for looks anyway but for some reason I could only get them to go with the mirror switch backwards, so up is down and left is right.

Sunday mornings are about impossible for me because I mix audio at my church but I am definitely interested in meeting up sometime. I was curious what your car was up there for when I saw it in pics of their parking lot!

I have just over 400 miles on my engine and hope to get it back to IRP in the spring for the power tune. The lack of a proper intercooler setup for a single turbo is whats holding my car back but past that I think we should see some similar numbers. Our biggest differences affecting power will be the turbo manifolds, IC setups, and exhausts. You can check out my build thread to see what I've got going on.

I'm a long way from reaching the traction and cooling capacity you have but my budget is now limited and I've only had the car driving for a month! I hope to make the spring cruise this year.

Hey, FWIW, I have a Crooked Willow (CWR) replica intercooler setup—custom Bell intercooler, with Ronin replica CF duct, and powdercoated (grey) cold side pipe and GReddy elbow. I made 430rwhp @15 psi on the setup.

LMK if you're interested, I've been lazy about listing it for sale because I hate shipping stuff.

I should be back at IRP for tuning in about a month. I'll be very interested to see if your setup has any boost creep issues... I had to have the turbine housing divider and wategate ported out. If yours doesn't, that will point to manifold design. I have suspicion that the ultra straight/short runner on the front of my manifold doesn't give good flow to that wastegate runner.
