Never paid too much attention to these before but that's a nice ride. Rocky? It's all you.

Where's good place around here to try out different brand seats? I know of OG racing, is there anywhere else?

MD Seats

Wes - Bill here, met you at Fuddruckers at end of August, white '86 na. FYI - I liked my stock seats, but maroon color with drivers side bolster tear or two - so got Coverking neoprene 'custom' covers for ~ $165 thru Costco. Very happy with result. Sorry didn't see you on Fall Road Trip.

MAZDA DYNO MEET TODAY 11/21/15 AT P-TUNING. I WON FIRST PLACE OUT OF 12 CARS AND 1ST PLACE PRIZE.

ITS A 4 WHEEL DYNO DYNAMICS, MOST ACCURATE. CAR MADE 447 WHP 517 TQ. IT SHOULD OF MADE AROUND CLOSE TO 528 WHP AT DYNO DYNAMICS REASON SAID, THE WAY MY CAR WAS SITTING VERY LOW, GUYS DIDN'T WANTED TO SCRAP THE BOTTOM OF THE CAR, SO INSTEAD HAVING THE CAR POSITION STRAIGHT ON DYNO, THEY HAD IT REAR END ON THE DYNO AND FRONT WHEELS DOWN POSITION ONTO RAMP. PLUS MY TACH WASN'T WORKING CAUSE CUSTOM CLUSTER WHICH NEVER HAD CHANCE GETTING IT REWIRED. HERE THE CHART. THE DYNO DYNAMICS COMPARE TO DYNOJET ARE USUALLY 11-12% DIFFERENCE. SO IF I MADE 600WHP ON DYNOJET IT SHOULD OF BEEN AROUND 528ishWHP. SO 447WHP WOULD OF BEEN 13.5% MORE.

How was that?

I've only ever been by autobahn once, and it seemed like more of a pre-teen/soccer mom trap than a place that was focused on legit carting.

That early torque is NUTS!!!! Is it standard for 3-rotors to have more tq than HP?!?!

It was decent. I mainly went there with the head of WDCR SCCA Rallycross to see if it was viable venue for our season champion awards. We used to do it at allsports.

I did 4 stints, the first two were fine, the cars and coffee people were actually fairly decent karters. once the normal people started to filter in things got a bit worse (having to stop 3 and 4 times a race for people spinning and people you just passed on the inside turning right into you and putting you into the wall).

It wasn't as bad as everyone I've talked to made it out to be, but still probably my least favorite karting place I've been too. but these days there isn't really a lot of options...

(the karts don't get up to full power till like 1 minute into this video: )

Lol ya. They didn't push all the way thru to be safe side cause tach wasn't working. I'm sure it would of reversed once hp went up.

Gotcha, that makes sense... so less a case of 20B's having a similar hp/tq curve to an LS motor, and more a case of the dyno guy not pushing it enough to get full HP at the end..

Introducing myself a bit. Been out of the rotary scene for a good 8 years after joining the military. Was big in the 2nd gen's owning around 7-8 of them over a course of some years. Ran into an interesting deal on a 3rd gen and picking up this weekend. Hopefully a good buy and not a lemon, couple things to clean up on it as well. Looking forward to this car as I never enjoyed the small engine bay compared to 2nd gens, but always loved the body of this car.

Congratulations on the buy and welcome back to the scene. Send pics once you've got the car, hopefully we'll see you at one of the various events going on once the weather gets nicer.

Been going through all of the car and found it to probably be modified up and then back to almost stock. Some wiring harness in the back has wideband o2 wires, and the fuel tank looks modified as well but swapped to stock again. I've been checking all the wiring due to that and found some wires cut and reattached them and the car runs now which means it was a steal so far.

Glad it's working out for you man! I'm feeling like a moron for not getting into it more in depth but I really didn't have the time for it and got tired of looking at it.

Where was the issue at, and is it driving yet?

Not going to say it was an easy diagnostics as I was knee deep in that main harness, but it does run. Still have to fix up the fuel system, as it seems its cutting off after a set time as well as getting a bit warm so gonna deal with the cooling system as well. As long as it's not a cooling seal, I'll be happy.

Christmas came a day early this year for me. The FD passed her last ever emissions inspection with flying colors! After Jan 1, 2018 she will be registered as an antique :P Happy holidays all!

Congrats!

I have to renew the tags next month, and the FC qualifies for antique

Looks like I'm back after about 8 years as well. I picked up a '93 FD a couple months ago near my house in Chantilly, VA. Nearly completely stock, under 30k miles. I drove it for a couple of weeks until the water pump gasket went out. That have me an excuse to clean things up, remove emissions, new radiator, IC, steering rack, plugs, wires, coolant and vacuum hoses, motor mounts, powerfc and oil pan brace. I'll make some meets when it's back on the road.

Okay, so I moved to MD in August, and I've been thinking about getting another Rx7. If you know me, you'll know I like to drive NA carbed rotaries with huge ports and terrible idles. With that in mind, what are my options? I know there are emissions free counties in VA and that may be an option in the future. I've read that VA has the wonderful 25 rolling year rule. (not sure if that's still law)
I don't know much about MD laws & was hoping someone could enlighten me. I haven't been able to find anything worth a damn on the web.
As much as I didn't like Washington state, I sure miss their car laws. No inspections, 25 year rolling exemption from emissions and exhaust regulations. You can drive a straight piped carbed Peripheral-port 13B FC and never get a ticket.

Maryland has historic tags for anything older than 20 years old. no inspection or emissions.

Registration - Special Use Vehicles

technically it's for limited use vehicles, but they don't actually check anything or state a specific mileage. and "occasional transportation" is pretty hard to quantify by any cop...

This is what I have on my RX7, Corolla, and motorcycle, I've never had an issue.
