Yep, we are scheduled for the 7th. Sucks that you have to leave so early but you are welcome to come have breakfast and chill in the parking lot with other 7 owners.

Will be there, plan is to at least put a face to the names, and check out yalls ride. Till 12 is the best that I can do, between unexpected weekend work, and last weekend trip to Speed 1, the wife got me on house arrest

 

How was your experience with Speed1?

 

It was GREAT, Dave and Brian are class act guys.

They had worked on my car 2 years ago, and I wasnt fully happy (more like 90% happy) with the outcome, but I guess thats expected when you drop a car, and dont show up every now and then to check on them, plus there was some custom work that needed to be done, yadda yadda.

This time around, I went in, knowing what I wanted, and they acomplished it

Great, I was going to have them time my Rtek when I get one. Now I'm not too worried.

 

Not sure if I can make it as I have a few conflicts this weekend. If I can, I'll text you Rocky so I can maybe meet up somewhere along the way or at the finishing point. The car does need a drive. Will definitely miss out on good riding, camaraderie and 'que though!

 

Just make sure you plan your route to not need any left turns

I will see if I can make it again but IMHO I think it should be pushed back to have some scenery for the pictures!

I say all the time and must sound like a broken record by now but, please be early. The only reason we will wait is if someone either txts me that they are coming or has someone already there who is in contact with them (and even then only if they are close). If you show up past 10:00 you are taking a crap-shoot as to whether we will still be there. We should be done with breakfast and out in the lot by 9:45 so if you are skipping food, aim to arrive that time.

 

I think Elaine is going to come along for this trip. I may have to abstain from a spirited hill climb on account :P Then again... I do need to break in the new tires

 

I think we all need to take it easy, we've been getting lucky the past couple years but sooner or later we will have someone with us who's ambition out-paces their car's grip levels. I do not want to be a part of that trip.

Also I'd prolly do a 3/4 day.. I'd separate at front royal... oooo I could get ahead of everybody and get pics at some point and catch the awesome train roll by... maybe like those double bridges :-)

 

I also agree with driving like sane people. I use to be a back road warrior.. too many close calls and i lost my 86 to such things Lol.. I enjoy a spirited drive.. just limited 10/10ths isle of man craziness

 

Darn I shoulda looked more closely at the trip route. Where 55 gets on 66 is a pretty cool place; in that valley. Also the road that leads outta front royal.. goes up a hill.. with the city in the back ground. That may be a good place to catch all the cars
