^ my bad. Access should be semi-public now.

There's also the option of doing Cars and Coffee since it ends at 9 am, then head over to IHOP for the tentative 10 am departure.

If we wanted to start the the Cars and Coffee, here's a proposed route that takes us one some nice scenic country roads, up over Mt. Weather on the Blue Ridge Mountain Road and ends at the Dirt Farm Brewery.

I'll call it, we will use Matt's route except we will still start from the same IHOP at 10. If people want to meet at the cars & coffee before, we can. I'll probably be there.

So Matt, can you add as your B location on the map Iron Bar Lane.

I guess we need to take another vote:

1. Start at Cars and Coffee and take Matt's route to Dirt Farm Brewing. Most of these roads are indeed narrow country roads and there's a few I couldn't get eyes on as not even a multi-camera Google car has driven them.

2. IHOP and Shenandoah. As Mike said, those that want to also do CnC can and then meet for departure from IHOP.

I'm going to vote for 1, although 8 am is damn early. Let's try something different. Since we do these twice a year, we should have at least two routes. And also put our $20 park fees towards beer growler fill-ups.

I looked for a different one but didn't find anything that was significantly closer. I also like the one we always meet at as because we all know where it is and there wont be any surprises.

I agree, I think next year we may go back to MD and run the Drag strip again. With the beasts that should be coming online by that point, I really think people will be itching for some light trees.

There's one in the parking lot of the Lowe's shopping center, 6 miles east of the DD. Sully Place Shopping Center, 13804 Metrotech Dr, Chantilly, VA 20151. But I'm fine with either...since we are all meeting to just "drive." What's another 20 miles. Just an FYI, Rocky. Make the call, I'll be there. I'm going to shoot for Cars and Coffee also.

Yea, the IHOP at the intersection of Rt50 and Centerville Rd is much closer to the C&C event and minimizes having to double back if we do want to run this new route. I'll plop that on the map for now and if concensus is we still want to fall back all the way to Gainesville I can change it later.

That said, I'm in favor of having breakfast at C&C and leaving for the drive straight from there. We can always hang out in the parking lot till later to give people from farther away more time to arrive. Just because it ends at 9 doesn't mean everyone leaves right then and there

That's fine with me too, if everyone is ok with just grabbing some food from Dunkin I am too. We are going to have to stick around till 10 before we leave though because otherwise we'll get to the brewery before it opens.

I am nervous about abandoning Iron Bar Ihop though due to someone not reading through the whole thread and just arriving there unannounced.

If that happens I'll just put the blame on Matt though.

Correct Bill.

For those making the mistake of heading to Iron Bar, we can put the blame on them for not completely reading a two-page thread before making a drive out to Gainesville.

I think I may bail on this one and spend the day either A) replacing wiring harness(es) in the FD, or B) brewing a batch of beer.

If all goes according to plan, I'll have a rotary to bring for the spring.

Lol, the dash harness and front body harness need replacing before I drop the engine in. But a 5 gallon keg of homebrew in a week or two would ALSO be nice... So it's kind of a toss-up, lol!

And another monkey wrench. Dirt Farm's FAQ suggests SUVs to get to their parking area. I emailed them to clarify and here's the response:

"You will experience a 3/4 mile very very steep incline that is only paved one lane. We just want folks to know the road conditions prior to the visit. If all that sounds ok you will be fine."

A very steep incline would have been okay. But a very very steep incline? And only one paved lane? I'd imagine any SUVs in our way will be the ones veering off the paved lane and not the six or so sports cars.

Anyone close enough to pre-run?
