Custom rebuild how?

Rebuilding my T2 gear box was 600 dollars in hard parts, synchros, shift selector forks, synchro slider for 3/4, slider springs and all new seals. (and that wasnt replacing the 1/2 or 5/R synchro sliders)...and a little bit of time with a file and mig welder, because they dont make the shift fork ends any more. That was also straight through mazda comp with a discount.

You could run a miata transmission...just have to have the input shaft ground down a little bit (on a lathe...with a mounted grinder...I think the number was like an inch, but im sure if you measured both shafts you could figure it out), youd have slightly lower gears too, for a little bit more accel. (everything from a miata gear box fits in an NA RX7 gear box...)

If youre just looking for a rebuilt trans...12A and 13B backsides are teh same bolt pattern (as well as the miata ones) should all bolt right up.

If I had a shop do my T2 one...woulda been close to...2500-3000.

If youre talking about an automatic though, I have no clue.

wish I could be more helpful...but aside from that cant think of anything.

The shop I was workin at when I did my T2 one was Evil Genius Racing out of northern california...you might try calling John, and asking if he would ship one out there and how much he'd charge. Tell him Jasen sent you.

Exactly. Define custom built, and you will define your list of builders.
