CTRA Limerock meet May 25th 12:00pm

As the flier states, we will be having our second annual meet in conjunction with the Grand Am series at LimeRock Park in Lakeville, CT. Some more details are being hammered out as we speak. We are working with Mazda to sponsor the food for all those who attend. We are also working with Speedsource and Riley Racing to get into the paddocks and drool all over the 20b RX8's!

As of right now this event will be free of charge for admittance, but Limerock is working out the details.

Worst comes to worst it will be a huge meet with the NYRA and NJRA at a great venue. http://www.limerock.com/content/track-track-map

As time moves forward I will let people know if we are BBQing (all will chip in) or they are providing. We should have a very large tent for all of us to hang under.
P.S. Beer can be consumed, but no drinking and driving.

The meet will start around 12:00pm, but we are having a pre meet and cruse at 10:15am at the usual spot in Stamford (leaving at 10:30am). The Park & Ride off the Merritt Parkway exit 35 (High Ridge Rd).

Tickets for the rest of the event can be purchased through the Lime Rock ticket office for Friday, Saturday and Monday. The main race will be Monday and we will be gathering again to root on the rotary teams!

Quick update guys. If you have purchased tickets already, you need to contact LRP and upgrade for the MAzdaspeed Corral or you will not get any of the parking , hats, shirts, etc. "For the people who bought a $55 ticket or daily ticket for $5 less, please have them call the office so we can upgrade them to a MAZDA car corral ticket and charge them the $5."

Call them and ask for
Mike O'Flinn
Ticketing and Promotions Coordinator

This does not effect the meet on the 25th, although it will be a BBQ, we will have to bring our own food and grills.

Update: The met and greet with the racers has been arranged for Sunday in the paddocks. There will be no charge as of this date for coming into Limerock Park on Sunday the 25th. We will have at least one BBQ, so if you have one, bring it along. Also, please make sure you bring something to contribute to the food.

MAZDASPEED CORRAL AT LIMEROCK FOR GRAND-AM SERIES

As you know we have convinced LIMEROCK to allow us to have a car meet and BBQ at limerock park on Sunday May 25th, 2008. They originally had an event planned but was cancelled. We know many of you have purchased tickets for Fri,Sat, and Monday and we wanted to complete the weekend. Those of you who didnt purchase any tickets but want to come and have a car meet, feel free to join us. PLEASE DO!!!!

There will be NO ADMISSION CHARGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So all you rotary guys should definately come out and chill. You may also have the opportunity to have a meet and greet with the Mazda Race Teams (Speedsource, Riley Racing, Hypersport, Racers Edge, Roar Racing etc). Not 100% but damn near close.

We will be refining this portion in the oncoming weeks.

Only 1 thing you need to do is fill out a WAIVER, saying that if anything happens to you the park is not responsible.

Please NOTE: There is no racing on Sundays at LRP, therefore no parade laps. Parade laps are for ticket holders on Friday and Saturday.

HOW TO PURCHASE TICKETS:

When you call please contact Mike O’Flinn he is the "Ticketing and Promotions"
Coordinator.

ADDRESS
497 Lime Rock Road
Lakeville, CT 06039 USA

+1 860 435 5000

***Reason for pre-registering was to try and obtain some more $$$ from Mazda to sponsor catered lunches for all attendees. We were unable to get that (Come prepared), but all those that have pre-registered are guarenteed to get a Mazdaspeed Tshirt/Hat. We will def try to get extras so everyone can have some, and im pretty sure we can work that out with Mazda USA/Mazdaspeed.

Last year me and john found this nice little italian spot that has some really good heroes (eh um i mean WEDGE). I can def try and find that address and give it to you guys, its only about 15 minutes from the park.

I hope all this info helps summarize it all. I will be very busy in the oncoming weeks with projects, tests, and then Finals, so i wont be around as much.

So please come out and join the CTRA hosted meet at Limerock Park on Sunday, its FREE!.

Best Regards,

Jason, NYRA

Look like this is going to be one of the largest rotary meets in CT, might I say ever! The 8 guys are going to coming strong. People are even coming down from Canada. We will be grillin on Sunday, so everyone chip in some food, drinks, chips, etc.....

Make sure you order your tickets for any of the dates besides Sunday. Be sure to mention that you want the Mazdaspeed Corral!!!!!

i want to make it on sunday. i also want to meet for the cruise up, however i live about 35 miles north of stamford. Which hwy will you be taking? is there a a gas station that is right on said hwy so that i can meet you guys? i will be early to the meeting spot so that you guys wont even have to turn off your cars. I dont mean to put you guys out. i will not delay the cruise. For the small inconvenience i would be more then willing to chip in more then my share for beer, food, or whatever you guys want. just let me know.

Just did a map quest quest. If you guys are taking 684 it wont work. If so, not a big deal. i will just meet you guys there. Unless anyone from spots north want to have our own cruise up???????

John64, maybe we can exchange cell phones numbers via pm to coordinate?

Just talked to ray G. When you arrive on sunday for the CTRA BBQ, you will sign a waiver at the gate. Then you will follow signs for the Mazdaspeed Corral/Tent Area, this is where the CTRA BBQ meet will take off.

See ya there.

All I can say is wow!

This was a great time. We had around 30 or more cars show up. We had people come from Canada, New Jersey, Rhode Island, New York, Massachusetts and Connecticut. I would like to give a big shout out to Marlon and his Mazda 6 crew coming in from Cleveland.

A big thanks goes out to Mazdaspeed for giving out the hats and t-shirts and providing the nice large tent for us to BBQ under!

We had drivers come in from Tri Point Motorsports and Horton Motorsports in to sign posters. We had the entire pit crew come in from Racers Edge come in for some of the BBQ. We then went down to there paddocks and they did a wheel changing race for us. (I need some of those pneumatic jacks built into my car) We then got a chance to look over the cars, if you have never seen one of thses monsters up close it's a site to me seen.

Tomorrow we will be meeting up with the crew from Speedsource for some 20B magic!

Sorry for the lack of pics, but Jay will be posting some up tonight.

Thanks to the CTRA crew for coming out and making this one of the best events!

Matty, nice crusing up with you. May be it was the crazy speeds we where doing on the back roads behind that thunderbird!

Thanks again for all that went out. If you have never heard a 20B start up and roll all out, you need to attend next year. It will be bigger and better!!!!

Here are some pics from the 2nd place finish of the Speedsource RX 8:
