Well i finally finished my rebuild recently and need a inspection. Porblem its been over a year, mine expired 7 montha ago. I no longer drive the car as a daily driver, and leave for iraq in august. Im looking to get a emissions exempt sticker since i will not be driving the car again for the next 5 months. If anyone can help me out or name a shop in york or lancaster pa that will do this or is overlooking on visual inspections, please let me know

Nice to know there's someone else in my area. I know a guy, but he still does visual. But you can get away without having cats if you have the Pre-silencer (he thinks it's a cat, or you can pass it off as one) and the equipment has to be in place, it doesn't have to work (Air pump and I guess it's a BAC valve? the one near the exhaust manifold)

problem is, i dont have any of those items. I know a pre cat isnt needed, but a main cat is. the valve you are talking about is the egr valve. I also do not have a egr valve,.

Can't help ya out much then, you'd have to go find the parts at a junk yard. There's one in York that has about 5 RX-7's, but the dude is a dick. He thinks the 86 GXL automatic with torn up interior, missing dash peices, fecked up engine, and rusted fenders sitting in his yard is worth 800 bucks. *boggle*

You don't even need the main cat to pass inspection with this guy. Just as long as ya have something that resembles something other than a straight pipe before your mufflers, he'll pass it as a cat.

To get the exemption I believe you have to have driven the car 5000 miles or less in the last year. Thats the way I would go if you can't pull off getting all the parts together. I believe its around $15 for the exemption, not sure of the details or if the car has to have been registered (or inspected) for the year prior to count.
