Can A Single Turbo FD Pass NJ Emmissions?

Just curious about you single turbo guys, has anyone passed NJ emissions with a single turbo kit? Is this possible without leaning out the car?

The short answer is no, most states with emissions testing like MD and NJ have a visual inspection and most single conversions require removal of smog equipment which would cause you to fail the visual portion of the inspection. I suggest you use your connection and avoid the headache. Or...

In maryland you can get a waiver if you've had 450 dollars in work done to the engine/EFI/turbo/exhaust up to and including the catalytic converter.

So the price of your new turbo or a rebuild receipt, new fuel system... etc. would get you a waiver. I used the price of an engine rebuild last time and it got me through with a waiver.

But with collector car registration, you need collector car's insurance right?

Which one did you go with? Hagerty?

sorry dude. no idea. i guess they would fail you and make you get normal inspection which means normal emissions testing.
