Black 93 touring FS near Worcester MA
I know this is in the wrong forum but I would prefer to sell locally. After some thinking, I have decided to sell my 1993 Brilliant Black w/ Tan interior touring model. I have decided to down-grade to an S5 TII. I just do not have the money to make this car my project. Also, my asking price might seem a bit high but that is what the car is worth to ME. I am in no hurry to sell it so please DO NOT low ball. And please DO NOT put your BS comments in this thread about how my price is too high. Thank you.
The car: 1993 Mazda RX-7 with the Touring Package. Black exterior with a tan leather interior. Bose tuner and Bose cd player with the wave unit in the trunk. 5 speed close ratio manual transmision. OEM Mazda rear window valance and sunroof shade. No Spoiler. AC still works very well. The engine was Rebuilt Approximately Fifteen thousand miles ago before I owned the car. I also belive that the transmission was rebuilt too. The car has under 130,000 miles on it.
As of right now the modification list is as follows. Pettit Racing aluminum air separation tank -- Autometer Sport Comp boost gauge mounted in a Tri-power dual gauge pod -- Spec stage 2 clutch disc and pressure plate -- B&M short shifter -- Mazda Trix replacement drive shaft WITH replaceable U-joints -- I also have a set of 5 way adjustable tokico struts, four(4) brembo Slotted rotors and a set of hawk brake pads, a stainless steel braided clutch line and four(4) goodrich stainless steel braided brake lines and an Apex'i N1 Cat-back exhaust. All of the latter items can be installed on the car or can be subtracted from the price if the buyer does not want them.
The engine runs very well. It has very nice compession, although I have never had a mazda compression check performed. The vacuum is right at 18-19 when idling and on deceleration the vacuum is at about 24-25. The boost pattern is a perfect 10-8-10 all the way to redline. Although I have brought it to redline, I do not drive this car very hard. I believe in preserving my engine so it will last longer. The transmission is a little cantankerous but I believe it to be a problem with the clutch hydraulics NOT the transmission itself. All gears shift smoothly if you don't power shift. The rear suspension components are in need of a freshening. the bushings in both the right and left trailing arms are not very good any more. I recommend replacing the whole unit itself with an after market "launch kit". A kit can be bought for around 300 dollars.
The paint on this car is good. There are a few imperfections and scratches but it is still very glossy and from 10 feet away the car looks beautiful. It is thirteen years old after all and with the age comes few dings and dents. The antenna does not go down all the way but still functions properly. The headlights could use an alignment but work well.
The interior is fairly clean. The coating on the plastic trim has come off in certain areas where ones watch might have scratched it while shifting. The cd player stopped working about 6 monthes ago. I was working on the car and disconnected the battery probably reseting an anti theft device. I am sure all it needs is a code to be entered to reset it. I have not gotten around to doing this because i rarely listen to music while driving. The radio sounds beautiful. Very crisp at any volume level. The passengers seat is in really nice condition in my opinion and the drivers seat only has a little hole in the outside bolster from abrasion. The lid to the drivers side cubby is missing and the plastic cup surrounding the door handle is broken. The pistol grip on the passengers side is gone from to many of my friends slamming the door shut.
If you have any questions about the car or the price, please feel free to shoot me a PM or an Emial at 2rotors@gmail.com. If you would like a test drive, feel free to ask and I will arrange for us to meet.
ALSO. As I mentioned at the begining of this thread, I want to get an S5 Turbo II. I am willing to do a trade plus the difference. I am looking for a fairly stock car. and if the search for a nice S5 does not prove fruitful, I will also look into an S4.
I will post pictures as soon as this rain stops and I can get some nice pics.
Thanks in advance for any interest. --Christian

hey christian, sorry to hear youre selling your car. at least your staying with the rotary theme, though. i have some pictuers of your car if you want me to email them to you. good condition inside and out, as you have read it needs some minor work, but it is 14 years old, after all. ive personally driven it, and it pulls strong. the new clutch is broken in and feels great mounted to the B&M shifter and new tranny, for smooth shifts. the rear suspension is a little smooshy, so as christian said, id look into that. it needs some minor modifications, but other then whats listed, its a prestine car.
Bump for a great guy/seller and a beautiful FD. i hope it goes to a good home.
good luck Christian

Good luck selling it! I don't want to be negative or anything, but I just think you might not recieve your asking price because of a good amount of mileage. But that's just my opinion.
Nice Seven!
