hey where abouts in NY???
i did the swap before.....its not terribly hard can be done in a full day (about 10-12 hours) if you have all the parts ready to go.........
if your nearby (im in Albany) i wouldnt mind popping over and helping you out.......
im sure youve read some writeups about it so that would help in tracking down what parts you need.........
the hardest ones to come by would be the pedal assembly, and the tranny crossmember support, everything else you can buy from like mazdatrix or someone if you cant find it in a scrapyard or for sale used
as far as the tranny support, rotaryressurection used to make them and you might message him about making you one or buying one from him
but let me know

my car was auto now its stick. Not terribly hard. But your gonna need a new crossmember made cuase the auto tranny sits further back and the manual is shorter so ure gonna need to get two steel bars welded to the manual crossmeber and holes made thru it so it can bolt into the auto holes.

I have a 5 spd tranny that was rebuilt 9k miles ago, and also a 4.1 torsen diff available if you need them. For bulky heavy parts like a tranny/diff, local sale is always the easiest. PM me if you're interested.

Hey, if he doesnt want it, any chance I could trade you some parts for that 4.1 Torsen? (TII diff + gear w/ FD torsen I assume?)

you need the manual flywheel. You gotta do a lil wiring like tieing up the neutral switch so that the car starts etc. Just the welding of crossmember is gonna be the main issue

message rotary ressurection about the cross member he has a good writeup on how to use the auto one and also he makes custom ones as well
you can prolly jsut buy it from him
dont forget about pedal assembly since your auto doesnt have a clutch pedal
and possibly new driveshaft?
when i did my swap i was goin from n/a auto to t2 5spd so i needed to do the whole rear end....so unsure about the driveshaft.....cuz i think its shorter on the auto cars

price of vehicle $600
4 Spark plugs $24
Car running... priceless...

seems like injector stuck open, idles at like 1500 rpm in park/neutral, in drive or reverse its at like 500 rpm ROUGH too... stalls out if i turn on ac or drive then stop.

think i gotta stick a set of injectors in there... -=\

the car is pretty smooth at 1500 rpm idle.. and i saw my gas needle drop 1/2 of a quarter in matter of 20 minutes or so...

pressure tested coolant held 13 lbs fine. no steam or bubbles while warming up

changed oil...

now all i need is it to run right (prob injectors) and do a 5 spd swap.

the car was painted before, OK job.. no bondo, light dents/dings here and there not noticable cept drivers door.

everything original not tampered with. only rust i saw, was surface rust at pinchers and rear lower control arms.. the underbody was lightly treated for NY winters. (originally cali car, purchased from original owner, which is an actor on "the wonder year" w/e that is... lol

a/c is ice cold too... lol. got a suspension set up comming in from Rishie for it. gonna throw the ones i got now on to my black one.

a little exhaust leak by cats... oh well...

thats basically all i checked today, everything is straight, seems like the front bumper had a little accident, everything straight capt passenger lower fender, lightly dented in.

while we tried to push the car on the tow dolly, it cracked the passenger side lower bumper... -=( and marked the drivers side lower bumper.

seems like rear hatch was replaced at one point since its black.

other than that... $624 for a running car, + gas for tow and toll for tow, a little extra for my boss to go get lunch .

anyone wanna put a word in to see what i can do about the 1500 rpm idle? am i correct on injectors..
